Yes, conquering multiple divisions is a criteria. And your petty insults only reflect on your own insecurity, lack of knowledge and creativity. I will say good day to you.
Look, guy, I don't care what you think, and that was a weak post. I am going to ignore you, now. Good night.
Carlos Monzon Best Wins Nino Benvenuti x2 Bennie Briscoe x2 Emile Griffith x2 Jose Napoles Rodrigo Valdez x2 Denny Moyer Tony Mundine Jean Claude Bouttier Tony Licata Outside of Napoles who moved up in weight these were all top 5 contenders. 15 world title wins. Julio Cesar Chavez Best Wins Meldrick Taylor x2 1st fight has alot of controversy over the stoppage. Greg Haugen Frankie Randall 2nd fight huge asterisk over this win though. Hector Camacho Roger Mayweather x2 Jose Luis Ramirez Edwin Rosario Rocky Lockridge Mario Martinez Ruben Castillo Juan Laporte Tony Lopez Mario Martinez World titles at Super Featherweight, Lightweight, Jr Welterweight, 30 world title wins overall. I think Chavez just has too much filler to his resume and he edges it for me although a case could be made for Monzon based on his better single wins overall.
Griffith i can understand but Napoles not so much he was historically an ATG Welterweight but he was certainly not a great Middleweight not even close. He only weighed 153 pounds vs Monzon and he was only 5'7 it was a mismatch in size, Napoles jumped up two weightclasses i don't rate that win as highly as you do with all of the context above. It reminds me of when Kell Brook jumped up two weightclasses vs Gennady Golovkin at Middleweight again another mismatch.
Chavez should have lost to Taylor (Taylor up on points at the time of corrupt stoppage) and should have lost to Whitaker. No wonder he loved Don King so much. That really hurts him historically for me. Who has blemishes as bad as that yet is still praised? Not many.
I'll apologise in advance since my GGG fan reflexes have activated, but I don't think the Napoles and Brook situations are all that comparable. Napoles was much smaller in both weight and height and was well past his prime. Brook, however, was in his prime, was heavier than GGG, and the two were separated by only an inch in height. As well, Golovkin never wanted to take the fight in the first place, since Brook was a replacement opponent after Canelo pulled out of negotiations and Eubank Jr chose to avoid GGG. Anyway, I think both are decent wins over physically overmatched opponents.
Chavez' destruction of Taylor was one of the greatest comebacks in the history of championship fighting. He should be rewarded for that not penalized. Furthermore, the fact that an over-his-best-weight, over the hill Chavez held the great Whitaker to a draw should be a feather in his cap.
