I mean,he had defeated plenty of prospects and good fighters of his division. -Went 1-1 with Bobby Chacon, retiring him in the first fight -Got the world title from Bazooka Limon -Never became a stepping stone overall -beat a good amount of contenders and prospects of his era IMO, that's quite the borderline HOF career, kinda lacking but he did a good job,and that record was certainly still better than Paz's.
No….but the boxing hall of fame is the easiest hall of fame to get into ….in all of professional sports…..it’s harder to get into WWE hall of fame
Dont forget: world champion in the golden era of the jr.lightweights and lightweights. That said, no I dont think so.
I loved Boza I'd say no. But then again they let Paz in Paz was like John Verderosa with a chin. Boza was like an anti Paz. Substance over style, let his fists do the talking instead of his loud mouth.
And honestly,he didn't need much trash talk to promote himself, his style is already action packed. He made Limon regret his words on Mexican vs British.
I think the key in the OP is the word borderline. Too my way of thinking if it isn't clear and obvious that a fighter should be in the Hall of Fame then he shouldn't. Comparing a fighter to another borderline case such as saying if Pazienza, Mancini or Gatti should be in then fighter A should be in is a bad concept. That's it all it does is compound a previously made mistake.
Fight for fight, Boza was the most exciting fighter of the 1980s. If entertainment trumps achievement, then he should be a lock.
Huge respect for Boza for always giving boxing fans incredible fights. If we are going by just from his fights alone then he deserves a spot in but I’m not sure if he has enough notable wins to qualify. He’s more of borderline HOFer.
