Most likely a bogus report, but good decision if true.
He has nothing left to prove anyway and is better off retiring on top.

High intensity style, 37 years old.
At best he has a year or so before big upsets are a real danger.

I don't know why people think he's making the money he made for AJ/Fury again. Yeah, he'll make a lot but not in proportion to what he's made now. These other characters are not 'stars' and 'casuals' won't be anywhere near as interested. The Arabs aren't just throwing money away, they want return still or at least to minimise any losses. They won't just give Usyk a fortune to fight any contender.

If there were big rivals out there to fight or big prospects on the rise to take down it would be one thing, but there's nobody or real value at HW to fight now since a lot of the fighters of his gen are shot (Wilder, Whyte, Joyce) or he's beaten them. All that's left really is the prospect Croatian who Dubious beat and Parker who's only 'on the rise' again because he beat shot Wilder and old Zhang.

Honestly the most interesting fight he could make at HW (and biggest money), would be Fury 3 as a voluntary, and that's not going to happen. Unless they want to set up a fake eliminator between Fury and AJ and justify making the Usyk fight again, which I guess is likely come to think of it.

If he decides to retire well earned. If he wants to continue, well he is the best in the world and deserves a few pay days so I'm all for whatever route he wants to take. I personally think milk the success and make a few pay days before retiring.

No, according to Usyk, he wants a last fight in Ukraine before retirement

I think he may fight against Dubois/Parker winner and then take Kabayel's zero in Ukraine

Kabayel recently already mentioned, his main aim is to fight once against Usyk before he retires

Do you have any other reports other than from that fake Twitter account? Kyiv Independent doesn't have any such news...

If Dubois gets by Parker, he needs to beat Dubois handily again so we don't have to hear about the low blow anymore.

What else is there for him to do besides maybe rack up defenses? Dude is arguably the goat resume wise. If he loses due to age or a lucky punch it will tarnish his legacy.

Racking up defenses is important. Especially if you're going to consider him as GOAT.

Losing to a "lucky punch" or age won't tarnish his legacy. It's part of being a HW great.

He should crush a few cans for another 50 million and call it day. Legacy is secure. Just grab some cash at this point.

He’s probably made 200-250m for the two Fury and AJ fights, he should hang them up

How much of that did he personally keep after taxes, fees, cut to trainers, etc.

Half? If he's lucky. Still a ton of money. But it's not like he pocketed 250M.

It's definitely a good time for him to quit, given his age and the fact that there's not really any 'mega fight' for him out there, from either a sporting or even financial perspective.

This said, he may feel that a greater number of defences would shore up his legacy, as well as being on the lookout for a couple of relatively easy paydays. All that's going on in his home country complicates the picture quite a lot. His mind may be turning to possible charitable endeavours.

I don't think the return to cruiser will ever happen now, he looks fairly set at heavy now, much more so than in his first fight or two.

Winner of Parker - Dubois, then winner of Kabayel - Zhang, then Opetaia or Ramirez (IF THEY ever step up to HW) and then retire pretty much, as there are no real contenders.
