Are there any light Heavy s (Champs or contender) that could have put up a decent showing against Tyson, who crushed Spinks?

On paper Spinks should have done better.

I would expect Moore, Charles, Tunney, you know, the usuals for LHW GOAT, to give Mike a hard time. I would expect Spinks to give Mike a hard time too though and he didn't do nothing.

No, I don`t anybody Tyson`s weight or under could have done well against him including Ali, but at least Ali had a reach advantage over Tyson, Spinks reach was slightly shorter than Ali`s and nowhere near long enough to keep him away, Foster had a long jab but didn`t have the footwork to keep Tyson away.

People are going to point to Holy because he had a few fights at light heavy, but Holy didn`t weigh 208 v Tyson, he looked roided and did far better v Bowe after he bulked up from 205, I don`t think any fighter weighing 208 would last more than a round vs Tyson.

Moore was too old and small during his heavyweight run to trouble Tyson, Charles was too thin as was Tunney.

If RJJ had retired after the Ruiz fight, I'd have given him a great chance.. who wouldn't!

But knowing how things went down I think Roy would get seriously Hurt.

If the criteria is doing “ not too badly “ then I think Ezzard Charles during the winning streak he had from 1944-1950 could potentially hang with Mike Tyson for a while. I wouldn’t favor him to win but I don’t necessarily think he gets blasted out early either. Man dealt with a very long list of punchers and did well against them

Your right goo, I think Ezz had the experience and stone's to give Tyson a few uncomfortable Rounds.
He wouldn't win we agree, but he isn't immediately smashed either.
What do you think about Billy Conn s chance s.
The Man had a solid Chin.

Correct. If Spinks and Tyson never fought, there would be those to this day who would say Spinks outboxes Tyson and would die on that hill.

Tarver might’ve been tough enough to go into survival mode and get stopped late or lose a lopsided decision.

Mike Tyson is one of those heavies that would be death to any light heavyweight. Spinks was a top 3 ATG light heavyweight, one of the best fighters the division ever produced and bulked up to 210+ pounds and he got blasted out in 91 seconds.

I don't see any light heavyweight surviving prime Tyson.

As long as Conn could away from him then he does alright. But that’s where the real challenge lies

No way could a 168 pound fighter stand a chance v Tyson.
