I’d say the Bert Cooper fight, he was younger than he was in the Cooney fight and he wasn’t rusty by that point.

Foreman was gradually getting worse and Moorer was his last knockdown after which Foreman started relying on his durability which was enhanced by his mass. Foreman was getting better as he shook his rust off in the beginning of his comeback but probably peaked around the Holyfield fight then maintained it awhile and started going down?

I think Foreman had a better fight against Holyfield generally than Moorer but one was a loss and one was a win and thats what people are going to focus on.

Holyfield. George would have rocked any top heavyweight around that time, though I don't think he actually wins against guys like 1992 Bowe.

I give him more than a punchers chance against Iron Mike and Lewis...especially Mike (who seemed to have lost so much of his Thomas-kayoing, Conquering Slayer style from 1989 to his imprisonment).

Cooney, Cooper, Holyfield, were his standout performances in his comeback.

Skill wise Moorer or Briggs, but physical wise maybe the early, slimmer comeback Foreman.

In his comeback, I count the Michael Moorer fight, when George Foreman recaptured the Lineal Heavyweight Championship, as his best showing, so I reckon that as the best version of comeback Foreman. He accomplished that 10 full years after losing that Championship to Muhammad Ali. It was definitely the high point of Big George's second career.

    Qawi thru Cooney.

That version of Foreman would've been really dangerous to any champion. He wasn't super obese (although it helped him later on), he also still had some speed and snap and he was punching straighter than his younger version but consciously putting shots together. These few years was the actual Foreman that people always try to hypothetically combine (young Foreman - old Foreman). That version would've given every top 10 HW hell. Crazy during that time no one really took him seriously, he was very serious then.

    Talk Bout revisionist history.

1990 Tyson destroyed Alex Stewart in 1 round. The same Stewart who took foreman’s best punches without going down and turned foreman’s face into Burger King.

We saw what Tyson did to old Larry. Old foreman would meet the same feat.

I want to say Cooney - but Cooney is hard to gage against because he had fought a total of 3 fights in 6 years going into the Foreman fight and was inactive for 2 years and coming off a loss. So how good was Cooney really, but George did look good in that fight. As someone noted I think it was Quawi through Cooney.
He did give a pretty inspired performance against Holyfield but was really slow in that fight and only got slower and slower of both hand and foot after that.
A different ref may have stopped his bout against Stewart. Then he lost to Morrison who was no speedster. Then he lost almost every second of every round to Moorer before catching the chinny Moorer. Then 5 months later got the stuffing beat out of him by Schulz in one of the worst robberies of the decade.
The fact he should have beaten Briggs in his final fight is an indictment of how bad Briggs was.
