Miller or Ruiz would be a good return fight for him to see if his power is still there.

 

Dillian White or Andy Ruiz are what fans do want to watch. A win makes the Joshua bout big again.

Shaw feels like a stay busy, bounce back option. Better a fight than no fight.

 

Shaw would've given Wilder problems in his prime, but now ? Wilder will lose badly. He should've fought Ruiz or Miller, the only guys in the top 15 who Wilder could realistically beat.

 

Can't see the reason in him continuing, to be honest. I think he has declined, even though he was limited (though dangerous) in his prime. Clear cut defeats to Parker and Zhang show that he can't get near the top anymore. So if his level is declining, sooner or later, more losses beckon ...

Shaw is such a dull opponent. Ruiz or Miller would be interesting as they might also have something left in them too and both would be good stylistic match-ups.

A man I never saw as a legit elite talent has now proven my previous theories to be true once he faced top opponents. Then the fact he was willing to blame everyone in the world except himself for his short comings, I highly doubt anything he's doing with that new trainer is better preparing him for the elite opponents.

I still remember being in his gym some years back and having a young Cruiserweight complaining to his previous coaches about them not allowing Wilder to spar anyone. Apparently he doesn't do much if any sparring especially during camps.
