You say you never rated Pedraza. You say it. After tank beat him you went on about him being an unbeaten title holders, but before the fight you had never heard of him. You was always defending Wahid ducking Loma so Wahid wasn't ready, even though you are now saying you think he was the best SFW in the world. Like I said you are arguing with yourself.
African Cobra said: ↑ Please note he destroyed Garcia who battered Haney from pillar to post! Ice8Cold said: ↑ And thats just not enough. He needs to fight the best and he hasn't done that - he takes very safe fights. You then replied "Nothing safe about boxing. Tank just beats up mother****ers like Oscar." I ask again, what mother truckers like Oscar has Tank beaten?? Now you're trying to twist things by including Hopkin's win over Oscar as if that was the point you were trying to make all along. What fighters has tank beaten that are at the level of Oscar for you to imply that Tank would beat Oscar??? Pretty simple question, I'm not the only one who's asked that question but you refuse to answer. You won't answer because Tank hasn't beaten anyone that is on Oscar's level. Ryan is nowhere near Oscar's level and will never accomplish what Oscar has. One can argue that Tank hasn't beaten anyone better than Ryan..
I never said I did not rate Pedraza. You just keep repeating lies. There is no point in you and I discussing this any further if you are just going to lie.
Tank is better than Oscar and in a hypothetical match up he wins. That is my view. You are entitled to your view. Garcia who Tank destroyed is an Oscar clone if you want the closest comparison. Oscar never beat a guy as talented as Tank either so what. Yes I don’t like Oscar personally before you ask and it’s not something I hide so yes I don’t like consider him a mother****er.
Tank is just Wilder 2.0. he will keep winning as long he will avoid the top fighter in his div and just fight cab drivers
You're entitled to your opinion, I disagree that Ryan comes close to Oscar's abilities. No way would Ryan go 12 with Shane, Tito, Ike or Floyd, in my opinion.
Can you detail how Tank beats Oscar? How does tank overcome a bigger, better, longer reach, harder hitting fighter? I mean, other than because he beat Ryan Garcia. Can you do that?
Tank is smarter. The size advantage won't mean as much as you'd imply. We've seen Tank display the skills needed to deal with a reach advantage. Namely being his educated lead hand. We can see him across multiple fights the ability to take away reach by jab jousting (hitting the oponents lead hand with your own). I think Tank is far better at timing fighters with punches and setting up kill shots. Someone like Oscar, especially when he was at 130lbs and 135lbs threw a lot of punches and was strong, but he got hit clean. A lot. Against someone like Tank Davis, I'd wager that Oscar gets hit clean first out of them. Tank usually focuses on defense in the beginning half of the fights. Say what you want about Ryan but his hand speed and power are 2 things that are absolutely REAL. You DONT wan't to take those. What would you say other than bringing up a resume? Remind you that if resumes actually meant something then upsets wouldn't happen.
Is he smarter though? He's demonstrated some very good skills in the ring. But against very weak competition while avoiding his peers. I can't say Tank has fougnht somenoe with the size and stiff jab Oscar had. Not to mention Oscar's hand speed and vaunted left hook. And adding Oscar's granite chin, I doubt Tank has the ability to really hurt Oscar. Tank is obviously very talented. But WTF is an 11 year vet still doing facing competition like some 5 year vet? No Loma, no Teo, no Haney, no stevenson. Time is NOT on his side. Oscar at the same age already had a HOF resume. He took risks that Tank has shown no ambition to do.
I agree with you about who had a better looking resume. But as I said just 10 minutes ago, resumes don't matter in the slightest when it comes to 2 men fighting each other. 1 Punch will change everything. This is why upsets happen. Which fight at those weights did Oscar develop that incredible jab? From the fights I've seen back when he was young, he really didn't have a jab that would cause someone like Tank problems. If anything, I'd bet it would be the combinations that give issues. I also fully disagree that mf TANK DAVIS can't hurt Oscar if he catches him clean. That seems more unbelievable to me. Especially when I just watched Oscar vs Campanella.
No, but a good resume shows what one is capable of against top competition. Tank MAY be able to do the same things agains the best, but he's not shown the willingness to prove it. Oscar always had a solid jab. Hence his early criticism of being just a strong left throwing fighter.
garcia was a good win, but i never thought or said he was the best at any weight. leo was undersized. 5 years ago loma would have been something, but that would have been unfair to tank due to lack of development at that point. won't mean the same today, its loma thats missing his best. if he can beat shakur, who i said from the start was the best at 135, i will give him respect for being who he says he is. yes, many dont give him his due, but i think its a result of him asking for more than hes earned.
You've raised good points and provided details explaining why you feel the way you do. Now the thread starter asked who we thought would win in a prime for prime clash. This is Tank's prime, what fight or fights would you say were Oscar's prime? And would Tank beat that Oscar, in your opinion?
