Michael Nunn vs Bernard Hopkins 160lbs primes

Hopkins wins by making it ugly. Bernard never cared about style points. He would test Nunn's resolve, commitment.
Michael is the more talented boxer if stays on the outside with the time and room he needs to build pts.

Hopkins was a nasty guy. Prison will do that. He might need dig deep into his bag here but he would get it done. Determination of Bernard Hopkins could be the difference.

 

Nunn by decision his speed, movement, angles, I think would get it done vs Hopkins.

Overall I think Nunn is a bit of bad style match up for Hopkins quite honestly he's considerably quicker and more athletic and Hopkins seemed to have some issues fighters like that see the RJJ, Taylor, fights.

 

I don't remember Bernard being particularly good against southpaws. Would prolly be similar to the Dawson II fight imo

You're actually wrong there mate Hopkins actually had a good record vs Southpaws yes he did lose to Dawson, Calzaghe.

But he also beat Allen, Tarver, Daniels, Holmes, Jackson, Wright, etc.

 

Nunn all day. At his best, Nunn was better than the Dawson that beat Hopkins. Hopkins best strategy if he got in the ring with Nunn would be to cause another bogus NC before it went to the cards.

 

I agree 100%. Bhop's strength was always taking away his opponents strength. Athletically, he was no match for Nunn but he would grind, foul and make a nasty fight for Nunn taking away his speed advantage. Bhop would give two ****s what he looked like as long as he got the win.

Hopkins always struggled with long range fighters who can keep him at distance and outpoint him (Jones, Dawson, Taylor etc) Nunn seems like the same sort of fighter so I think he'd be able to outpoint him but Hopkins would def make it a tough fight

 

Another vote for Nunn by decision. Too much hand and foot speed. Hopkins would have some moments later in the fight.

This would be a tedious, frustrating fight to watch. Depends which version of which shows up. I think if Nunn stays on the outside he wins a decision. If Nunn isn't focused Hopkins could maybe bully his way to a decision win.

I think this would be another Hopkins-Taylor type fight.
