He had one fight against an ancient DLH, is that really enough to rank PBF as a good jmw?

    Umm.... Yes?

Considering De La Hoya destroyed Ricard Mayorga one year prior, I'd have to give Mayweather credit for beating him.

To say Floyd is not at least "good" at those weights is showing your true colors.

Maybe he should have in some peoples eyes, but discrediting the rest of his career because he didn't is unjust. It's not like he beat up premature babies, he won linear titles.

Personaly, I have yet to see anything from Margarito or Cotto that makes me think they are even 1/2 as good as Mayweather. They are both very, very flawed fighters. Mayweather has yet to show any weakness aside from his hand breaking because he lands so many clean shots.

What colours? That I am objective and you not?

Oscar beat Mayorga the year before. Right but how many fights had he in between? Oh, none! He had one fight against an past prime ww, he himself was far away from his prime when he faced PBF. How can somebody with just one win over that guy be called good at that weight? This was a money fight and nothing else.

That's just biased talk dude. Floyd would give Shane a boxing lesson. Shane was outboxed by Cotto by simply sticking his jab in Mosley's face over and over, in Shane's fights with Winky, Vernon, and Cotto, and his rematch robbery win over Delahoya he showed fustration in those fights because of having a really hard time. What in your right mind makes you think Floyd can't give Shane fits also?:blood Margarito would be an interesting fight, but you mentioned Cotto getting caught by him in the later rounds as if that could happen to Floyd also.

Sorry but that's a TOTALLY different fight. Cotto is a guy that is used to pressuring his opponents and wearing them down. He couldn't do that to Margo so he had to box and be on his bike. Cotto slowing down and getting caught by Margo was because of 2 things. 1 Cotto isn't used to moving like that and it eventually took a hell of alot out of his legs.

2 Margo's pressure landing shots wore him down also. He had never been hit like that and he folded. THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS WEARING DOWN FLOYD MAYWEATHER. Floyd would move backwards and NOT get tired so Margo can chase Floyd all day and still won't be able to do **** with him. Clottey? Ah maybe would be an interesting fight, but the guy comes to block and pot shot and attack in spurts, if he did that with Floyd he'd just be considered another loser on Floyd's resume. Cotto? Would have simply been outboxed. The only one on that list that would be a complete handfull would be Paul Williams and he'll give anyone problems with the pace that he fights at.

He wasn't a great WW but he did win a linear championship there. His legacy was made at the lower weights his accomplishments at 147 just added to it.

PBF is an ATG to say otherwise is foolish. He's arguably the GOAT at 130.

And here we have yet ANOTHER one of these...

The fact that you guys hold PBF on such a pedastool that you have to argue this **** about him at welterweight, is a testament to PBF. (But I'm sure that goes over MOST people's heads)

Similarily to - "Floyd was never a great welterweight" - "Roy Jones was never a great heavyweight". :yep

Doesn't change the fact that he's a HOF, an ATG, and one of (if not) the best of their generation (I have Floyd as this gen's best; Roy as last gen's best; and Whitaker before - but it all depends on how long your particular generations are, and if you allow for overlapping or not)

Mosely still a great WW today? I'd normally agree (because I still rate him as a TOP win), but I just don't see how the Mosely of today is that much GREATER (key word) than the Dela Hoya of today (who everyone is pitching to fight Margo, the no. 1 WW in the world today)... :think

And even if he is, would a welterweight fighting a 147 pound Mosely be better, worse or as good as a welterweight fighting a 154 pound Dela Hoya?

Most defitnaly, just look at what he accomplished in the year 1998 alone at 130.
