Wilder is more shot in my opinion.
He never had great boxing skills but he had good speed and timing, he could see openings and obviously has tremendous power.
I think at his age and the beatings he has taken he has slowed down he hardly threw any punches in his last couple of fights he is having trouble getting set.

I would still like to see it - dependent on what Wilder shows in his comeback fight.

I have loved watching both guys revitalize the division, and there was a time that this fight would’ve been as big in the US as it was in the UK - really wish that it had happened then for Deontay and the US boxing community’s sake as a whole - Joshua is already a household name and boxing is mainstream in the UK, some of that could’ve been transferred to Wilder and the US in the build up and event of that fight. Sadly never to be.

I always thought it would look like Joshua vs Martin - tentative feeling out before Joshua’s superior skill (coupled with power) neutralised Wilder early. But given Wilders recklessness and Joshua’s new found…conservative fighting style…it could be anyone’s fight.

Joshua clearly has a lot more left in the tank than Wilder at the present time though, and I think Joshua would make light work of him at this point.

Yeah. 5 years ago this was one of the most exciting fights of the last 20 years but now it'd just pointless. Wilder hasn't landed a punch in his last 2 fights.

I honestly don’t want to see AJ vs Bakole because I think it’ll end with AJ being brutally KOd. AJ looked way too defensively irresponsible against Dubois and it cost him. If he goes in against Bakole like that, yikes.

I could care less if it’s too late or not, this will be an extremely fun fight.

Yup, right next to Juan Manuel Lopez - Yuriorkis Gamboa.

I'd be pretty surprised if Hearn/AJ take Wilder at this stage.
The risk is still very high because at this point AJ is basically expected to beat him so Wilder has little to lose now.
The pressure is all on AJ
Wilder lost to Parker and Zhang AND Fury before that so if he lands and KO's AJ imagine how bad that is going to look for AJ's brand. That's worse than losing when Wilder was prime.
Also, Wilder will definitely get up for the fight.
They'd rather wait for Fury or if they have to, fight Dubious. It's not as bad losing to young Dubious twice than old Wilder. But they're probably praying for Parker to win now.

Fast Car Eddie Hills looking to protect his man all the way to a Fury fight that people are rapidly losing interest in and is 5 years too late.

It’s a real shame we didn’t see these fights when fighters were in better prime. All for the sake of protecting PPV money to watch them fight bums

Blame boxing politics, I think turki has shown that by removing the politics and throwing money about, big fights can be made.

Usyk has shown that too, not expecting big pay and not getting involved in ego/political warfare

Better late than never as they say but I think Wilder is shot now, he was after Fury 3 and I'm scared to think how bad he'll be after Zhang. AJ could badly hurt him, and AJ himself has seen better days.

I don´t get this "protecting" nonsense. Where was the protection when AJ enforced the rematch clause for Ruiz, after Ruiz beat the crap out of him?
Where was the protection from Usyk, who ended up beating Joshua twice?

Well with the Ruiz rematch and the Usyk rematch he needed the fight, if he didn't he lost his fake image as the division's best fighter and his best bargaining chip for the Fury fight.

That's why every protected fighter has rematch clauses.

    Still 50/50 fight.

(Just an observation, seems like the YT comments sections are full of Turki bot praises instead of the actual bout, even Bivol-Beterbiev.)
