At this point in Marciano's career he had mastered his offense and was able to keep Moore on the defense for the whole fight. Walcott would definitely win the first couple rounds but Marciano will inevitably land the shots he needs to to knock him out. Marciano KO round 12.

I mean Walcott isn’t as good as Moore? IMO.

I'm not going to pick but I will say that Marciano had accumulated some horrific injuries, including the split nose, chronically bad back, the Shkor cut above his eye, and a bad elbow, I think the right one.

Conversely, those who want to say that Walcott would win because "look what he did in their first fight..." Marciano fought half that fight blinded, so it really is a meaningless metric.

I don't know. To me it's hard to say. I think Rocky but Walcott was great.

Marciano never fought a fighter on 1947 Walcotts level IMO except maybe Moore.

If he almost lost to the Walcott he almost lost to that is not a good sign.

Not half the fight, and the blindness was caused by his own corner allowing medication to run into his eyes, when they tried to stop the scalp cut Rocky got from butting Walcott's eye.

That bad back was plain to see in that Moore fight. It won't be getting better in subsequent fights, but worse.

Is anyone convinced Marciano beats a 1952 Walcott if there's a replay of the fight?
If Walcott doesn't get tagged in the corner then he is clearly in control of the fight.

Put him back in his prime and the advantage is greater.
Now age Marciano a couple of years and the advantage is all the more skewed.

Maybe? There isn’t a “no” in terms of H2H it’s very debatable… Moore was a great fighter, one of the best and a much, much better boxer then Walcott that is not debatable.

The Marciano of the Moore figh was winding down.
I always think if Moore had been a few years younger then Marciano might have ended up struggling to get a win.
Anyway that Rocky verse that Walcott, I see Jersey in with a good chance of getting the win.
He still had some good years ahead of him so he'd bring more to the fight.

As much as you insist this is true, it is not known, and also completely irrelevant. The point it, it was a tough fight for reasons that did not have anything to do with Walcott's ability level at the time.
