    Benavides does not march face first he always uses his high guard. Arguably his best career performance was against a southpaw far more proven and experienced than Morrell. I have no idea how you can say Morrell is more skilled than Andrade but I understand the narrative is that Andrade is now a can just because Benavidez walked through him. Last time I checked he was an olympian, world championship gold medalist and was an undefeated 2 division champion.;

    Just watching Morrells last fight again vs hot rod and it looks to me that he clearly has longer arms than morrell and broad shoulders, yet his reach is only listed at 76 inches. There is no way morrell has 78 inch reach. Just look at that fight again you disagree. Hot rod has ****** looking arms.

    Ah yes! That masterful high guard defense of Benavidez, which was never tighter than it was against Gvozdyk, who still managed to land 168 clean punches. You're right he was an undefeated two division champion and a gold medalist, who was also a glass jawed feather-fisted middleweight being drug up to fight a boiled down Light Heavyweight and the fight was a match universally condemned and laughed at as a joke.... because it was. I say Morrell who is also a gold medalist, has better technique and is more skilled because I have eyes. The only thing Andrade really has going for him is his awkwardness.

    We will see how good these two fighters actually are. One has an excellent amateur pedigree. One is more experienced in the pro ranks. Neither has fought top level opponents in the pro ranks. Understandable for Morrell not for DB imo.

    I actually think Morrell will neutralise DB from pretty early on, with movement power n a good jab. N I’m tipping him to stop DB at some point. Probably mid to late rounds.

    DB high volume march forwards, head first line of defence, are 10 a penny & are usually found out, when in with a hard punching boxer mover.

    he takes a lot of shots regardless. Andrade was also an old fighter and not big enough or strong enough to get in the ring with the vast majority of 168s. He’d not really fought anyone bit like DB n was chasing the £ that’s the only reason he moved up to 168. DB is also absolutely huge at 168 n he gets away to boiling down n still being able to fight purely because of youth. Like spence did for years. If you’re gonna put Andrade down as a top notable win for DB. Then any fighter who beats a fighter much smaller should get his dues right? Except they don’t.

    With the exception of beterbiev knocking out Kalajdzic, nobody has looked good against him. He dropped a highly dubious SD to browne, who’s regarded as a force at LHW. Too many people watched the fight, watched Morrell win, but not win in a fashion that makes them go WOW. Never the less he beat a fighter who’s been in with two world class fighters n who generally makes anyone he fights work. And above all else is an active fighter.

    DB fought Gvozdyk.
    Gvozdyk An ex world champion, only previous defeat to the brilliant beterbiev 6 years ago. During the 6 years that have followed that defeat, he’s taken 4 years continuously out, then beaten 3 absolute duck eggs in 2023, before losing to DB. He’s 37 inactive, hadn’t fought a high level opponent in 5 years n had 4 of them 5 years out of the ring. The fight itself, well DB dominated the vast majority looking unimpressive n failing to even look like hurting a man who was old in active n way way past his best. 2019 Gvozdyk who lost to beterbiev beats the DB that fought him. By round 8 DB looked like he not only lacked power at 175 but his famed high volume engine looked like it had blew a gasket trying to get a man more equal his size outta there. So whilst still winning the fight relatively easy imo, he looked far less impressive than Morrell. When you actually factor everything thing in. Gvozdyk Is just a name now, he’s not active or remotely the fighter he was. Yet DB made an absolute meal out of the fight n never looking like he could stop a man he should have been stopping.

    it’s why imo, it’s gonna be a much tougher closer fight than people expect it will be.

    It wasn't just that Morrell didn't look good, he at times looked completely lost against Hot Rod. I wonder what happens when Benavidez turns the heat up on him. Hot Rod could have probably won that fight if he let his hands go a little bit more. We'll see how Morrell deals with Benavidez pressure and handspeed.

    The Nail looked good against lower level opponents before fighting Benavidez. There were even guys on YT saying that Gvozdyk was going to beat Benavidez. It didn't happen, he basically got shut out. Benavidez looked better against the Nail than Morrell did against Kalajdzic, that's for sure.

    No one stopped Gvozsyk besides Beterbiev, and Gvozsyk went into the later rounds and was ahead on the cards. Hot Rod was never in that fight with Beterbiev. If Morrell had otherworldly power like people are saying, he should have been able to KO Hot Rod. It didn't happen. It also shows the Nail has a great chin and just because Benavidez couldn't crack it doesn't mean a damn thing.

    Tough call. I suspect Benavidez will pull off a decision, but it wouldnt surprise me if Morrel made it very close or even got the win.

    The missing factor to me is Morrell fighting on his back foot. He hasn't faced anyone that brings it to him cause his fights have been mismatch. He has always been the stalker. That is a big change and the deciding factor for me.
