I really believe 40+ Foreman was the better fighter, and I also believe he would beat the younger version in a head 2 head matchup.

Old man Foreman knew how to pace himself better and keep his stamina throughout the duration of a fight, plus I would also say he seemed to be able to take a punch much better without getting rattled.

His punching speed was a little diminished, but he picked his punches better, and retained most of his power.

I think old man Foreman still KOs Frazier. May be not as dramatically, but just as brutally

    Tell me I'm wrong

    You're wrong.

Young Foreman dismantles Stewart, Savarese, Morrison, Briggs, within a few rounds.

And if Holyfield traded as much as he did with a young Foreman he would be on the canvas.

I think he would do better against certain styles but I would say he was a bit worse in general.

Old Forman was more skilled, with much better stamina management and a better chin, but lacked enough of the youthful advantages the younger incarnation had to actually be a better H2H fighter.

Give Young Foreman the chin, stamina management, and ring smarts of Old Foreman, and The Rumble never goes down like it did.

    You are wrong.

    So so wrong.

Young Foreman was one of the best lineal heavyweight champions, and old Foreman was one of the worst.

I see your point but what do you make of the point if George is more relaxed Muhammad can be more relaxed and to whose benefit does that inure to?

Old George was a lot slower and could barely fight with those that boxed off the backfoot in which Young George would have battered inside a couple rounds against the likes of Morrison and Briggs and Schultz.

Old George though, was smarter and tougher in the ring than Young George as had to change his style, and completely redo his career basically. Old George had a great run but Young George was more complete.

Old Foreman was protected. Nobody he fought had anything close to the defense of Ali and Young.

He wasn’t better. He was much slower and lost to guys that young George would have knocked out.

    Hi Guys.
Who was better, who would have won if we could have a time machine, I don't know, nether does anyone, don't matter how long you have followed boxing, how many mags and articles you have read, all the greats , Futch, Dundee, Steward, they don't know, but this much I do know, Foreman of the early 70s, and the fighter that demolished Frazier was a monster, a living breathing monster, he was Liston with knobs on, it took the Greatest himself to overcome such, I would back very few HWs to posit a win over that incarnation of Foreman, and no one weighing 13st or thereabouts, but you never know.....
    stay safe guys, chatsoon.

    No.

This feels like some 90s propaganda.
