If JJC had won his fight with Fitzsimmons,does that alter his place in heavyweight rankings?. Bob would be denied an heavyweight title also ,so not sure how much or little this fights alternative result means.
For me it would change alot. To me one of boxing greatest moment's was Fitz denying Corbett the rematch. If you read Dan stuart's fistic carnival. The amount of total BS that corbett put Fitz through just to get himself in the ring is mind-boggling. That book details the enormous amount of bull****. I'm so proud that Fitzsimmon's stuck it to him by not giving him a rematch. If Corbett won he would be looked at as near the top in pound per pound of his Era instead of Fitz. It's fortunate Corbett lost because he probably wouldn't have gotten in the ring again for another 2-3 years based on his track record & everything would have been different. He would of made Jeffries wait maybe 5 years or more....Corbett was a jackass.
True just waiting & waiting & waiting. Corbett would need at least a few years bragging about how good he was before he actually did anything.
