Another one that is hard because of depth. The last name could have been a couple of guys in my book...

    Evander Holyfield
    Vitali Kiltschko
    David Tua
    Oliver McCall
    Hassem Rahman
    Razor Ruddcok
    Tony Tucker
Mike Tyson (because of age, or course)
    Frank Bruno
    Tommy Morrison

    OTHER NOTABLES
Ray Mercer (didn't pick because many felt Lewis lost)
    Gary Mason
    Tyrell Biggs
    Shannon Briggs
    Andrew Golata
    Michael Grant
    Mike Weaver
    Henry Akiwande
    Franz Botha
    Bob Mavrovic
    Glen McCrory

    1. Vitali
    2. Holyfield 2
    3. Tua
    4. Mercer
    5. Ruddock
    6. Rahman 2
    7. Bruno
    8. McCall 2
    9. Golota
    10. Tucker

Holyfield was past it but given the magnitude of the event, the pressure on both men, and the fact that even a past it Holyfield still had flashes of brilliance in him, i am inclined to have this as a top 3 win.

I left out Morrison. Despite his win over Ruddock, Morrison looked lathergic and slow. It seems the effects of HIV were already taking a real toll on him. Otherwise i would have had him in.

@catchwtboxing I'm claiming the 1st Holyfield fight as a win because i think it's too much of a robbery and pretty much everyone on planet earth thinks Lewis won.

    1. Holyfield 1
    2. Holyfield 2
    3. Vitali
    4. Ruddock
    5. Tua
    6. Rahman 2
    7. Tyson
    8. Tucker
    9. Bruno
    10. Grant

Ok i'll explain a few of my choices....

Lewis was an underdog vs Ruddock and it was his coming out party so i rate it pretty highly.

Tua was the number 1 contender so again he ranks highly.

Rahman of course the revenge KO is well up there.

Tyson ranks a bit lower but he still has to be quite high due to name value. Tucker was also no spring chicken when he fought Lewis either so i'd still rank Tyson above Tucker.

Number 10 is tough it could be Golota or Morrison aswell but Morrison was at the end of his career and a bit past it i think. Grant beat Golota and was highly rated undefeated top 3 ranked contender so i think that win deserves a mention.

    A few names i didn't include....

Mercer i scored that fight a draw and i think it's a legit draw aswell so i can't rank it in the top 10.

McCall had not long come out of rehab and he was not in a fit state to fight mentally so i'm not including him either.

Fully respected...Holy 1 added, and I appreciate the clarifications.

I just love it when we get a couple of answers and the records start to take shape!

I look forward to doing these lists you do a good job on these threads and it adds something fresh to the classic forum.

It will be interesting to see what other people say i think the top 5 names will be pretty similar but the bottom half i think you'll get mixed results.

I do think though that some people need to apply context to certain wins like McCall for example i've never gave Lewis alot of credit for that win honestly due to McCall coming out of rehab and being a total mess mentally.

Mercer is a highly debatable decision i guess that's down to the preference of your scoring, but for me personally i've watched it twice in full properly and had it a draw each time. So IMO it's the most legit draw you'll ever likely to see it's a shame that fight wasn't 12 rounds we need the extra 2 rounds to settle the argument.

I have it almost exactly like you do except of McCall who wasn't in proper state in the fight. I'd also put Mercer and Golota slightly higher. So, my ranking

    1. Vitali
    2. Holyfield (prime Evander would clearly be ahead of Vitali though)
    3. Mercer
    4. Tua
    5. Ruddock
    6. Rahman
    7. Golota
    8. Bruno
    9. Tucker
    10. Morrison

I'd rather use points system. 1st place - 10 points, 2nd place - 9 points, 3rd place - 8 points and so on. It would give you a ranking in order rather than just top ten wins
