What does that do in the context of Joshua, Fury, and Dubois' respective records and public image?

We all know Parker is a decent contender. He's a kind of stepping stone to the belts. However, he's one of, if not Joshua's best win. At the same time, he took more punishment and lost to Whyte and he was sent to Pluto by Joyce. If Dubois gets him out of there, will that change the way the public or the boxing community perceive Joshua? Remember, this is the purported new and improved Parker that Joyce beat, but not Joshua or Whyte!

What it does for Fury is simply add another decent name to a 'rival's' (use that loosely - generational gap in a way there between Fury and Dubois) record and although Fury's heights are probably the highest of the trio, it would put Dubois well on his way to overtaking Fury since he has so many years left.

I guess that arrives at the question... is or will Dubois end up being the best of the lot? Who'd have thought that a couple of years ago? Give yourself a pat on the back if you did!

Silly comment, you can do this with anyone, as people fight people at different times and different stages of their career and styles make fights.
Dubois lost to Joyce, who looks **** now and lost to Chisora who loses to everyone. What does that make Dubois look like? do you see what i did there?

Pacman lost to Horn, who lost to Zerfafa, is zerafa better than Pacman?

see, can do it for 99% of boxers who have ever lost a fight.

No need for the hostility, Phil, just a fun question. As I pointed out, people were talking about the "new and improved" Parker on the cusp of Parker's fight with Big Joe Joyce. He came with much more ambition that night and gave it his all, and was outdone by the Juggernaut in just about every department. Now the Parker hype is at its highest, so a Dubois win would be somewhere in line with the Joyce win. Whyte does deserve credit for putting Parker down, but he suffered a knockdown himself and he didn't look very ambitious in that fight. He looked borderline intimidated for the first half of it!

So, isn't beating the new and improved Parker, the one that throws leather, more impressive, and therefore diminishes the records of Joshua and Whyte's even more so?

The most interesting part for me is where it puts Dubois in that trio. It just boosts him up a notch, in my opinion (regarding where he is at himself just now). If Dubois were then to go on to beat Bakole, and that's a big if, he'd be well on the road to greatness.

DDD has lost to Usyk, lost to Joyce.

    His best wins:
Miller - who weighed like 350 pounds and hadn't fought in ages
Hirgovic - Who lost to Zhang (everynone knows he lost that) and his best win was who? Eric Molina?
Aj - This is DDD's only good win in his career, and many on here say AJ is a fraud and over rated and had already lost 3 times prior

So DDD only has 1 good win and has lost twice, a win over Parker really doesn't make him that special.

Fury and Joshua have also lost to Usyk, twice. Dubois, however, lost controversially. You list Dubois' best wins as if they are nothing. He's 27!

Joshua best wins are Klitschko - hadn't boxed in two years, had been beaten by Fury who was an enormous underdog, was in his erly forties, packed it in after he lost.

    Parker - mentioned already.

Povetkin - very old, decent win but nothing to write home about. Can't really think of any others.

For Fury it's Klitschko and three wins against Wilder. All on away soil.

The point is his record doesn't need to be anything special and he's got lots of time! He's absolutely brill for the British scene. Are you not getting behind him?

For this particular fight, and both these two fighters alone. ( It's the now between these two that counts and matters)

If Dubois truly annihilates Parker then I'm thinking he's definitely on the 'big' up in his career. The same can then be said if Parker wins....don't forget that. It's a two way street.

So, then, when Dubois & Parker meet in the ring, we've got two live dogs who are both bouncing off of winning streaks. Both have lost fights, big time!, both have won fights since those losses.

if accolades are being prematurely wished for or dealt out, wait until the fights over instead. And then dish them out accordingly.

He doesn't have to do much to out rank both Fury and Joshua in the history of the sport if truth be told.

He lost every round and quit, nothing controversial about that.

Totally agree with you, Arch. Well said.

I may be jumping the gun in thinking that this is a walkover for Dubois, but let's see in a couple of weeks time. If Parker wins then it would be an incredibly impressive win given that Dubois has been on a fantastic tear.

    @MaccaveliMacc I respectfully disagree.

I imagine that it shows Dubouis is living up to early hype against a guy who is an ex belt holder and solid champion. Parker has won some big fights and lost some big fights but at the moment they are both in form and beating guys in and around the World level.
If Dubois KO's Parker then there is an argument he's number 2 in the division behind Usyk.
Fury hasn't beaten anyone worth mentioning in years, Aj has just lost to DD.. who else is there?

Dubois when he first hit the scene pre Joyce loss was tipped by many to be the best of the lot already. It’s just the loss vs Joyce which his stocks has never truly recovered from since. No matter what he does he’ll be seen as below both in terms of British royalty now.

It’s funny if you become champion without hiccups then that becomes your default in the public’s eyes and when you lose the questions are about how to get it right but if you lose before reaching the top like Dubois then you’re viewed as something less.

Only after clearly surpassing both would he get rated higher so to do that he’d have to go on a long winning streak with destructive wins that capture the imagine on the the eye test like the Joshua win.

It doesnt matter imo. We are at stage now where I think people realise that anybody could have beaten anybody in this era, until Usyk came along.

Prime undefeated Joey twelve is head and shoulders Joshua’s best win

I’m on record on here saying this back as early as 2019.

If DDD splatters Joey twelve the same he splattered big josh it just reinforces AJs level as being around the Ruiz/Parker/chisora/whyteleafe level guys

and establishes DDD as a level above.

not sure what that does to fury’s cv since he’s beaten whyteleafe and chisora x3 already?
