I think it's because Usyk never ducked anybody, never demanded catchweight, never marinated fights, never was afraid to fight on opponents soil etc.

Recency bias. Fans like what Usyk is doing in terms of cleaning out cruiser and becoming undisputed at heavyweight despite being significantly out sized. Then there’s the narrative he’s done it on the road which I personally never put much stock into. Pac and Mayweather were the A side. Being the A side comes with advantages and a fighter would be a fool not to use them in some capacity.

    They are all great fighters
But I’d imagine he gets elevated because he is the current greatest fighter at the moment.

He’s had a hell of a Run & has jumped through every hoop to get it out of the Mud.

Mayweather loses points for his diva pick & choose behavior.

    Paquiao embodies that warrior spirit
But also has quite a few losses including that Huge KTFO loss to Marquez.

So, I do understand him being elevated over those 2 especially since he is the current heavyweight king.

you were actually slightly unkind to Mayweather and Pacquiao even though you were trying to defend them.you left out some of their notable wins.

You can add Carlos Baldomir(for the lineal welterweight title which Baldomir held)Phillip ndou,Carlos Hernandez,Gregorio Vargas and Juan Manuel Marquez to Mayweathers notable wins and remove Berto who was utterly shot when Mayweather beat him.

for Pacquiao you can add Jessie Vargas,Jorge Solis,Chris Algieri(not a big name but he was coming off a big win over Provodnikov going into the fight)
Jorge Julio was finished before Pacquiao beat him, that wasn’t a notable win.Julio was significant when Johnny Tapia beat him.

It's just annoying Usyk fanboys. Mayweather's and Pacquiao's achievements stand on their own and will be remembered forever, they don't need fanboys to do some artificial online boosting campaigns. Frankly I just ignore it, they can rate Usyk however they want to.

Because people see things different ways. Everyone also has their own biases and agendas. Comparing fighters from different times or weight classes is pointless.

Recency bias for sure. I think also people like Usyk because he wasn’t a political guy using his name to duck or postpone tough fights. Mayweather’s legacy in particular is marred due to carefully selecting his opposition.

I should learn to ignore it, I'm just a sucker for facts and most facts point to usyk not being as great

Usyk’s success and likability triggers the usual suspects.

I would imagine here are some the reasons

    1. People see Mayweather as a ducker and with all the a side advantages. While Uysk would fight anyone anywhere.
    2. Giving worth to Uysk's amateur record of 335-15 (I see this come up a lot)
    3. Uysk beating guys 20-50 pounds heavier than him is seen as a monster P4P feat
    4. Mayweather is quite hated and seen as arrogant.
    5. Pac lost to the best of his era and was stopped quite a few times while Uysk has not.

Not saying I agree this of these but still these are arguments I have seen.
