There have been a plethora of claims about who Canelo Alvarez's next few opponents will be. Terence Crawford, Jake Paul, Jermall Charlo, William Scull, Bruno Surace, and I've even seen Hamzah Sheeraz's name thrown around. So, why is there so much pandemonium trying to find a Canelo opponent for May?
He should at least fight Morrell now. Canelo is really fading out of relevancy. Alphabet Orgs need to start taking away belts!
I can't see Turki tolerating any BS from Canelo. Turki shut down the Jake Paul fight. He froze Tank and Tim Tszyu out and everyone else has fallen into line too. Canelo isn't the shot caller anymore. BTW - I hope Beterbiev is on that list TBH.
Enjoying boxing 101: don't pay attention to what Canelo does unless he's fighting a top 5 guy in his own weight class.
I'm pretty sure Alvarez will fight Surace next. They both beat Jaime Munguia recently so the promoters will use that as a selling point while still being able to keep Canelo safe.
Most likely: Surace this May Crawford in September Then Scull in May 2026 if he still has the IBF belt at that time
