Eddie talking of a Leyton Orient stadium fight for Dave Allen & Bosh I mean that sums it up for Eddie and the UK
Imagine the shite the MR fan boys would have been saying 5 years ago if that was Frank It's worse than Billy Joe at Stevenge against some random bloke
How is it worse? Seems to make an awful lot of sense to me. Your biggest ticket seller rematching the man who should have given him a career-defining loss. Full knowledge that losing this might be the end of the bandwagon for Fisher so make it as big as it can be, whether that's a large arena or a small stadium. Sure, it isn't a title fight unlike the Saunders one, but like you say, it's a popular fighter vs a known opponent.
very true but it’s weird he has just washed his hands of the UK scene, meant to be his bread and butter!
I'm not sure that Taylor has the hunger now. He reached the dizzy heights several years ago and it's been downhill since!! Catterall beat him twice and he also lost to Lopez.....so it should be 3 losses in a row!! Loved watching Josh as he won the WBSS and went to a few of his fights. Hopefully he can grab a couple of bob over his next couple of fights and then retire
The big difference between Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren is that Eddie Hearn is a businessman while Frank Warren is a boxingman. Frank Warren has a desire to put on good UK shows while Eddie Hearn doesn't care.
Well more saying that Eddie's barrell is so empty a big fight night for him is basically an English level scrap.
George Warren said they've actually signed Leigh Wood, this isn't just a 1 fight thing. He is so good in interviews, it's ashame he doesn't do more.
Yeah he comes across well when interviewed. Frank Smith should take a leaf out of his book instead of being an insufferable melt and trying to be like Hearn.
This is exactly it, Fat Frank just comes across as a Hearn impersonater. He thinks just because he lucked his way to CEO, he can start acting like a prck because he's safe in his job. That's why he acts like he does. Because he knows Hearn was like that himself so why would he say anything to Fat Teaboy Frank. That's what makes him do that. Warren on the other hand hasn't taught George to act like he does. Frank is still the same old guy but his sons are smart enough to know that they don't need to act like their dad. They absolutely don't need to. The difference in class between Fat teaboy Frank Smith and George Warren is worlds apart.
That's how I see it also. My preference is always for boxers to retire before the point that the deterioration is obvious. In Josh's case we've surely seen enough to know he's nowhere near the force he was. I just hope he doesn't take too much damage in this last part of his career.
