Can we have more appreciation for this fella.. Here's a list of some of the fighters he faced over a 22 year career spanning 77 fights right up until his mid 40s: Hopkins, Gonzalez, Harding, Woods X3, RJJ, Tarver X2, Hall, Griffin, Dawson X2, Cloud, Bute, Froch, Otke, Sosa, Harmon, Branco, Hall, Kiwanuka, Fonfara, Groves, Makabu, Mack, Green etc.. Rarely in a boring fight, robbed on quite a few occasions too.. granite chin, solid puncher, sound fundamentals, fight anyone anywhere.. the ultimate road warrior Glengoffe Johnson: This content is protected
Had the pleasure of seeing him live against Froch. Though he lost he fought well and gave the crowd a good showing. A great late career guy too performing very well into his mid/late 30's I'll never forget the shock of the Jones KO, Roy was down for what felt like ten minutes.
Yeah that's the fight that made me do this thread.. watched it recently again, it was a war that.. although Froch was always just a step ahead the old fella had his moments.. amazing career, fantastic to watch.. doesn't quite get the respect he deserves on forum boards.
An old school road warrior who ducked no one and always fought his heart out. Gave most guys hell with his pitbull style. Incredible how he managed to stay in the game for so long. Great fighter.
