Fighters who copied their idols but ended up looking different than them

    Mayorga's favourite fighter was Sugar Ray Leonard. I'm sure he must have tried to emulate him at some point. I can't see it though. Maybe the show boating?? I don't know....even that's different.

    You can see it in Pryor's second fight against Arguello, especially in the 3rd round. Floyd before his hand problems was similar offensively to Pryor imo from how he threw the jab, how he bounced around while throwing punches, and even the physical controls Floyd used was similar to how Pryor often fought. More than that though, Floyd imitated the braggadocio of Pyror. From the showboating, the cockiness, to even the way both men would pretend they weren't hurt, you can pretty clearly see how Floyd copied a lot of Pyor's mannerisms. Floyd even took on the villain role in his Money era, similar to what Pryor did against Arguello.
