Proof Calzaghe is a coward

Actualli I think Roy was the greatest fighter in the last 25 years or maybe 20 cu there was a Duran,a Hearns,a Leonard but Roy is the best in last 20.Calzaghe fought mostly bums and a few good guys,not enough.

I have already had this debate with TFFP. Pacquiao has been better over last 2.5 years, hence the reason he became p4p#1 and Calzaghe didn't, despite Calzaghe having far more time to prove his credentials. Look at standard of opposition, number of fights, and quality of performances. Pacquiao definitely edges Calzaghe IMO.

DON'T say Morales & Barrera were washed-up - Hopkins??
(Morales was anything but washed-up in his 2nd fight with Pac, and Barrera had floored JMM and pushed him all the way in his previous fight - there is NO WAY Morales at 29-30 and Barrera at 33 were any more washed-up than a 43-yr-old man)

DON'T say the Marquez decision was controversial - Hopkins?? SD.
(and even then, Pac was amazing to have such a close fight with JMM, who is in great condition and is the #3 p4p. It was clear in the last rounds v Joe Cal, Hopkins no longer had the stamina to fight 12 rounds)


Juan Manuel Marquez and Erik Morales are a ****ing damn sight better opposition than Jeff Lacy or Mikkel Kessler, and Pac never fought a Manfredo in this period.

I don't agree. Kessler is a better win than any of them, he was an undefeated unified champion who was at his prime or close enough - and it was a top performance from Calzaghe. We can't say that about Pacquiao's best win against a close prime opponent in Marquez, which was questionable - in other words he lost

The others were old men, just as much as Hopkins. Except they had far more wars than Hopkins, and Hopkins was in better form with wins over Tarver and Wright. Calzaghe also stepped up a weight. "The work-rate point" as it should be known, is moot. Calzaghe made him tired. He had the stamina for 12 against Tarver/Wright who are world class in their own right, and was on top late
