In this particular case, it may actually be true, though. Parker has faced AJ, Zhang and Wilder who all hit harder than Ruiz, but Parker employed a more defensive style against these three than he did Ruiz, so he didn't take as many flush shots as he did against Ruiz. The aforementioned big three hitters were mainly throwing single shots or 1-2s making it easier for Parker to read and take the sting out of shots that connected. Against Ruiz, who throws combos, has quick hands, and can set traps, Parker will have been caught with shots that he didn't see coming. So whilst the shots Ruiz threw probably had less power than the other three, Parker would have felt Ruiz's shots more.

It’s the the best I’ve faced that the ring used to do. toughest opponent/hardest puncher etc was always the person they beat
