I watched a Billy Nelson interview the other week and he said then Bakole was very fit and in good shape. Can't remember what weight he said he was but I think it was either 276 or 286 albeit I might be remembering that wrong. I'm sure it was no more than the later though

He also said Bakole was levels above J-Park when they sparred each other and that he was very confident they would stop J-Park judging from what he saw during that spar

Very risky fight for J-Park to take at such late notice. Stylistically he should have success using movement and speed to outbox Bakole but if Bakole can cut the ring off and get into range and unleash those heavy hands and vicious combos of his he can knock him out.

No. No matter how much personally want to believe it. Beterbiev - Bivol 2 for the undisputed is DEFINITELY the main event.

I'm glad Bakole has stepped in though, it means we get an end to the ridiculous overhyping there's been of him lately!:)

Fair play to Parker, he doesn't seem too phased

Seems a bit like when Joyce fought Zhang with all at play for him then lost everything. I’d like to see Parker get the nod over Bakole and then a re arranged summer fight with Dubois .

I think Bakole has been training.

    If he's around 285, there's a good chance he'll win this fight.

I think he's a very good bet, even if he is the slight favorite. If not, it'll be a great deal.

Agreed... Bakole's feet are soooo slow. I think Parker is gonna outbox him and make him look silly.

Ooh, this will be good. Check the big balls on both guys. For me, Parker is the better, more cultured, more proven boxer and his grace under pressure will see him through. Clear but competitive points win for Joe for me. But, there's always a but with a fighter like Martin. I'd not be surprised to see Martin bust him up early...then we can see what his tank is like. I don't THINK Martin can ko Joe, but who knows. Martin has a much better tank than Zhang, but Zhang had to knock Joe down several times to make that close...oh its a good one. Whoever wins, loads of credit to both men. Win lose or draw their respective stocks have just risen....

Serge I'm getting Joyce/Parker vibes with this fight I see Bakoles relentless pressure being a big problem for him.

I like both fighters though so I have no agenda against either fighter may the best man win.

Parker can do for 12 rounds what Anderson was trying to before he got caught and drawn into a brawl.

Sure - you're not proven until you are.

Latching onto exceptions to the norm doesn't make me wrong and it doesn't make you clever...

Yeah this is a real banana skin for J-Park and one where there's a strong chance of him getting viciously knocked out. Bakole might not have Big Joe Joyce's engine and work rate, not to say he doesn't have a decent engine and work rate himself, but Bakole has faster hands and more power than Big Joe Joyce and better skill, accuracy, timing and combinations

This is the best last minute heavyweight replacement for a fight i can think of since Lewis - Vitali

Bakole's barely earned a shot at a top contender...

It's not like he's been deserving it for years and been ignored - he's not been relevant.

It'll be interesting to see how he handles such a huge step up. Maybe he'll succeed but it's a heck of a lot more likely that he fails.
