Boxing is full of businessmen. But I don't count Parker as one of them.

    Because he's not a massive, gushing *****.

He's a proper fighting man who's happy to take challenges and happy to risk losses in order to be great.

He's not a cowardly duck - there's been too much of that recently and it's great to see a fighter doing things properly.

Pay day it’s not like he’s undefeated and Usyk is running out of opponents.

He's going to win anyway so what difference does it make?

Parker is kind of like Chisora. He is not as gnarly looking as Chisora, he looks a bit more sophisticated. But he is cut from the same cloth. He will fight everybody, anytime, anywhere.

It's not because Parker is 'just a fighter', it's because of the massive money involved including no doubt a special bonus from the Arabs to save the event.
Boxing fans really are delusional about these characters. Parker played it extremely safe for many years after the AJ fight. He even played it safe in the AJ fight. He's not more 'warrior like' he's just getting a ton of money.
Call up any HW and offer them what he's making to do this fight and 9/10 will take it.
It's the same with Chisora who isn't a special warrior he's just getting massive paychecks and ridiculous opportunities all the time. Otto Wallin would happily take every one of those fights too if offered.

the whole Saudi aspect makes it easier. He was probably offered some extra money to take the hard fight over a tomato can replacement — it’s not like it wasn’t an option to fly in some British level fighter who would present zero danger to Parker. He was probably also reassured that if it goes wrong, they’ll get him another fight don’t worry about it.

I dunno about Chisora. He might actually just be that crazy. He’s the unique case of a contender/gatekeeper who is a bigger audience draw than most of the higher ranked guys, and I tend to think that’s BECAUSE he’s really the warrior he seems to be. Fans can tell.

This is what he does. He will fight anyone, anywhere, any time.
