Fantasy matches are fascinating, obviously we will never know how it would have ended and some are very uncertain. But I don't think the pre-Steward Wladimir vs 1976 Foreman is one of them. That version of Klitschko was destroyed by Puritty and Sanders (a good southpaw anyway), for me 1976 Big George would have been too much for him: Foreman by ko
Foreman can even allow himself to be knocked down; Wlad cannot afford that luxury. Wlad would have died in half the blows Lyle took. Foreman win by KO.
Foreman was never hit by a puncher with Klitschko's power. If he takes one like he took from Lyle, he most likely doesn't get up.
I'll say what I said in the post-Steward thread ... George quickly and a lot more easily than most folks probably think. I don't care how big and strong Wlad was, he's not going back to the 1970s and cleaning house. IMO FOTC Ali, who lost but could have beaten any other heavyweight who ever lived that night, pitches a 15-0 shutout at Wlad unless Wlad collapses from fatigue from chasing him and punching air.
Only theoretical chance for Kiltschko to survive would be to grab and hold Foreman for dear life. However I highly doubt Kltischko can keep Big George at bay for long, and as soon as the bombs start coming it is Good Night Wlad.
Yeah I don't see any version of Wlad and his chin holding up young Foreman's power. Would be fun whilst it lasted, can defo see Foreman getting knocked down too.
I'd pick Foreman at his absolute best to beat Wladimir. But the rusty sloppy version of Foreman who almost got knocked out by Lyle ? I wouldn't be so confident.
From just one punch? No one came close to KOing Foreman with one punch, and he always got back up. Lyle hit him with everything but the kitchen sink and was planting his feet throwing with his full strength with his punches. Wladmir hits hard, but I don't see him taking Foreman out with one clean shot, and he certainly wouldn't be standing in the trenches with Foreman like Lyle was putting everything behind every shot.
