    Where is Saudi finding these kids?

    Turki, want some GOOD home grown fighters? You’re the Sports Minister. Get a boxing program going in every middle and high school in a poor area (Saudi has plenty of these, it ain’t all rich there). Get a bunch of regional amateur tournaments happening for these kids, make it all free and easy for them to attend. Have some scouts at the tournaments, pay attention to what kids may have actual talent. Fund those kids to train for real.

    anywhere you’ve got poverty, you’ve got a potential pool of talent for boxing. There’s always going to be some kid with real talent, willing to put everything into it to try to bring his family out of some ****.

    First Saudi event? ;) they’re always like this. They’re all day events. You plan nothing else for the day.

    I’m not saying this is a good thing. It ain’t. But it’s how it goes. Probably going to have to sit through a shitty concert or two right before Beterbiev-Bivol.
