This 100% Bivol banked a few rounds then took his foot of the gas until the 6th round it was much better fight management by him

Bivol's sense of distance is absolutely superb. It is his best asset imho. I can't think of a fighter right now who can measure distance better than bivol

All three of them are getting old quick though. I still hold out hope that Shakur will get his act together and demonstrate his tremendous boxing ability over the top names at 135 to cement his place as a P4P talent. I think Xander Zayas has a pretty promising future. Boots too. And I reckon Fernando Martinez will get recognised as a P4P talent when he beats Bam. Junto is stellar too ofc. Opetaia is increasingly making a solid argument as a P4P guy. There are loads of peripheral P4P guys who I think will come into the foray soon and obviously Inoue, Crawford, and Usyk are all excellent fighters but I really want to see the young talent start to prove themselves.

Most of that heavy leather landed on leather itself watch both fights back on half speed

Ok that's it for me I'm totally burnt out and my head is fried after watching so much boxing....

But overall I thought the card was good I don't think it quite lived up to the hype I thought half the fights were good and the other half were pretty poor.....

    Highlights for me are.....

Bivol putting on a fantastic boxing display.

Kabayel destroying Zhang with one of the most brutal body punching displays seen in the Heavyweight division.

Smith/Buatsi putting on a fantastic contest which was the best action fight of the card.

Ortiz vs Madrimov was OK.....but Madrimov has an amateur style and is not an entertaining fighter so Ortiz winning is better for the sport and I'm sure he will be in much more entertaining fights.

    Goodnight everyone.

Well he told everyone he'd learned from the first fight only a casual would say he fought the same fight , his adaptability was more evident tonight imo .

For the most part but this time he was willing to sacrifice it to stay in there and exchange, I think the judges mistook his mastery of range for being put on the back foot in the first fight, so he stayed in there more often and countered beterbiev.
It was a performance of a true champion

" You have to give me a rematch. I gave you once. Let's shake on it"

Then he walked away when Bivol put his hand out. Heat of the moment stuff. No bad words exchanged.

I have never seen a better beterbiev against probably the best fighter in this division in Bivol.
Beterbiev beats everyone in this division not named bivol even at 50 years old. Hence my question if he is all that natural.. I personally think he gets away with something. Wouldnt suprise me one bit if he knocks bivol out in the 3rd fight. Not in the slightest

I want to see Betebive get that beard trimmed for the rubber as it's too long imo , at times you could see Bivol connecting but at times you ( i ) needed slow -mo to catch them .
