Two fights where Bivol took hard shots from Beterbiev and he ate them well...Does this prove Beterbiev's power was overrated and he knocked out a-lot of tomato cans or Bivol's chin is made of granite?

I've been saying this for ages. I think he hits hard, very hard even, but he doesn't have one-punch KO power, so he relies on rabbit punches to get KOs. Watch all of his fights, you'll see it. Even his highlights are full of them. If he can't land a rabbit punch, he doesn't get KOs. He's a dirty fighter. Bivol exposed this. His damaging power totally disappeared once he fought Bivol, who avoided these shots.

Shall we draw up a list of all the opponents who took the hardest punchers in the history of the sport the distance when said punchers were in their primes, let alone when they were 39-40 y/o and were facing top 5 P4P elites who wouldn't stop moving and were one of the best defensive fighters in the sport which of course very few of them ever did?

Bivol has one of the best defenses in boxing. He was constantly moving and kept his high guard up. Bivol didn’t get hit flush with too many shots. That’s why he was able to beat Beterbiev.

I don’t think any other fighter at 175 can survive 12 rounds against Beterbiev.

AB had a perfect KO ratio until he was up against one of the most clinical defensive fighters of this generation

Dont think that reflects a lack of power

He hits very hard. Different kind of power. He's not a one punch KO guy but he has that thudding power that if he keeps touching his opponent with it, they get knocked out. Bivol didn't get hit near enough for that to happen. He used movement, had a strong high guard and picked his battles well when he decided to stand in front of Beterbiev. Also Beterbiev's style has always been about overwhelming his opposition. He couldn't overwhelm Bivol. Some of that is due to age (not having the same stamina) and Bivol.

These fight should prove he has scary power, and worse his power lasts all 12 rounds. He does however land a good amount of rabbit punches.

One of the best fighters in the world loses a close decision to another one of the best fighters in the world so that makes his power overrated.... LOL ok then.

Lol so if Mutombo has a a few games in a row where he doesn't get blocks his shotblocking is overrated right? Dicaprio doesn't get a new 19 yo gf and settles for a 27 year old he was never a player to begin with?
Shavers loses 2 in a row to Ali and Holmes and his power overrated too right?

For me, Beterbiev's power is not overrated. In addition to giving due credit to Bivol, it must be said that Arthur is a demolisher, not a striker like Julian Jackson. His knockouts usually come from accumulation of punches, he has good power but, for example, in my opinion, Foster on the single punch was more powerful than Beterbiev.

Exactly this, it’s obvious that his hands are heavy, but it’s also oblivious that a lot of his ko’s come from intentional rabbit shots.

Even though Beterbiev can hurt you with a big shot he still usually needs to follow up on it and then maybe even get a couple knockdowns. With perfect hindsight there was just no way he was ever going to be able to do that to Bivol.

Personally I think it was a case of Bivol keeping Beterbiev moving and not able to sit down on his power shots as much.

Bivol could also just have a really good chin.
