I think Bivol is the better match up for Foster. I think 40 year old Beterbiev would probably fold Foster in half.

As far as I'm concerned Bivol proved he had an iron chin when he took that flush shot on the ear by Joe Smith and didn't drop like a bag of spuds. In my opinion Smith hits as hard or harder than Beterbiev.

No. As much as i like Bivol and was cheering for him vs Beterbiev in both fights, the fact is Bivol and his team waited for Beterbiev to get older before stepping in with him. That is a valid criticism. It isn't hating or nostalgia.

Beterbiev has been dropped by left hookers lesser than Foster. If Beterbiev could be pushed back ocassionally by Bivol's power, let's see how a 40 year old Beterbiev would do vs Fosters power.

Beterbiev would be very hesitant to close the distance vs Foster especially at 40. Younger Beterbiev would have a solid chance of beating Foster but not this version. Not quick enough to close the gap and if he does, he runs into power like he hasn't experienced.

    1. That suggestion has nothing to do with my post.
    2. It's circumstantial because Turki entered the game and made the fight when Beterbiev was starting to get old.

Beterbiev never got stopped, pro or am, after hundreds of fights. And Foster wasn't as durable as Bivol.

He’s a tall skilled and mobile dude as well which means he might be a difficult target for Foster

yes and he hasn't faced a puncher as a pro of Foster's caliber. He has gotten knocked down by lesser fighters and there is a good chance he would get ko'd by Foster's left hook.

So a bout between two Long range fighters.
Where one is taller, has a 5 inch reach advantage and hits much harder?

It's hard to pick against Foster here.

Foster ... Foster was a cobra ... with his own nasty jab , huge reach and unreal power I see him dominating ... Beterbiev is a hell of a fighter but I don't see his power close to Foster's at 175.

i'll also add that Marciano, Ward, Calzaghe and Usyk have never been stopped. That doesn't mean that their are no fighters in history in their weight classes that could have stopped them.

Beterbiev isn't unstoppable. He is fundamentally sound and doesn't take too many unnecessary risks but even then, he has been dropped twice in 22 fights. If he goes up vs punchers of Foster, Moore or Spinks's caliber, there is a fair chance he could get stopped. Conversely, he could beat them too.

I'm picking Bivol here personally. Think he has the hand and foot speed, and the defense and durability to take a close split decision here.

Foster's jab would be landing similarly to how Malik Zinads was last year and there would always be danger of getting caught, but I think Bivol would be able to get off with his own combinations enough while avoiding incoming fire to edge the fight.

Let's not just lump Foster in with Moore and Spinks like he's in their category. We're talking about a guy who probably lost to over half of the best ten fighters he fought.

 At heavyweight. Let's see Bivol and Beterbiev go up vs Frazier and Ali.
