Given that Chisora got dominated in rounds 5-8, 11, and 12; how could he have won? Usyk dominated 6 rounds and Chisora dominated the first 2 rounds. Where could he have won an additional 5 rounds? That doesn't make sense. I had that fight 117-111 Usyk, giving Chisora rounds 1, 2, and 4. Round 10 was competitive and could have been score to Chisora. If you give Chisora every single benefit of the doubt, you could erroneously give him a 114-114 draw. But that means you are not giving Usyk the benefit of the doubt in any round; all to Chisora. Which as we know, would mean you are heavily biased. I thought the Briedis fight was very close and could be scored a draw. Other than that, I thought he clearly won every fight although both Fury fights were pretty close.
Lost to Fury twice, Dubois, Chisora, Briedis and Joshua once so his record is 17-6. Just like Floyd's record is officially 42-8.
None of his decisions are "controversial" but they all could have been flipped with two rounds. Hes lost 25 rounds in his last 7 fights. Talking HW here.
Briedis is the only legit razor-close one The fact that one judge came awfully close to robbing him in the first AJ fight, scoring it 7-5 to Usyk when Usyk dominated the fight 9-3 or 8-4 if you want to be very generous to AJ, was disgraceful One of the judges did rob him in the AJ rematch, scoring it 7-5 to AJ, which was criminal and scandalous. Again, the best case you can make for AJ is 4 rounds One of the judges robbing him against Belly in their first fight was scandalous too. Usyk won that one at least 7-5 + KD which would've been a KO had the ref not come to Belly's rescue Usyk clearly beat Chisora Usyk dominated Gassiev Glowacki Dominated and knocked out Dubois Huck Mchunu He lost maybe 1 or 2 early rounds against the slick, skilful and extremely awkward Mchunu He pretty much dominated Hunter, losing maybe 3-4 rounds before, as he does, moving out of second gear and going onto win every round culminating in him beating the crap out of Hunter in round 12 and coming within a whisker of stopping him He knocked Bellew out in HL reel fashion. Sure he lost some rounds and it was close but he opted to walk Bellew down and with little regard for what was coming back at him even though Bellew is a legit KO artist with a vicious left hook. He could've made that fight a lot easier for himself had he opted to fight in one of his other styles Let's not forget that he beat AJ in England Briedis in Latvia Gassiev in Russia Glowacki in Poland Bellew in England Hunter in the US Chisora in England Mchunu in the US (neutral) AJ II in Saudi Belly in Saudi Belly in Saudi again The fights in Saudi might have been on neutral soil or rather neutral sand but all the controversy we witnessed in those fights - the scorecard for AJ and Belly and the ref saving Belly from a KO loss - all flowed in one direction and it wasn't in Usyk's. And his only home fight which wasn't even in his home country was Dubois. His only home world title fight or home fight at the world level And in all of his world title fights and fights at the world level he's had a combined ZERO home refs and a whopping TWO home judges In 14 world title fights and fights at the world level out of a possible 56 refs and judges he's had 0 home refs and 2 home judges If he was one of the US's current best all those fights would've been at home, or maybe possibly one wouldn't have been, and the 2 of home 56 officials would be completely inverted And if he was one of the UK's current best most of them would be at home and he would have way more home officials So truth be told he has two SDs on his ledger he shouldn't have, he would not have near as many of these close judge's cards if he had home judges almost all of the time or way more often like so many of his American peers and former greats from over there, and he's not stacking the deck by trying to wangle any advantages in his favour, let alone as many as he can like many others. Whether it be fighting at home, home refs and judges, ring size, gloves, catchweights, rehydration clauses etc. all of which makes a big difference and even just those things individually can and often do mean the difference between a W and an L, let alone combined E-Hearn stitched Usyk up with a shoe box-sized ring against Chisora because he knew how good Usyk was and how much of a threat he posed to dethroning his golden goose AJ. He never wanted that fight for AJ and dealing with Chisora's unique brand of size, power, 12 rounds of relentless pressure and teak-toughness is difficult enough for damn near everyone in a large or regular sized ring And that 36 y/o version of Chisora who was supposedly shot at the time was robbed in his very next fight against the current #3 ranked HW J-Park, including dropping him which he couldn't do to Usyk, and has subsequently beaten Big Joe Joyce, Pulev and Wallin and has only lost to current #1 ranked Belly and #3 ranked J-Park since and in addition to dropping J-Park he also dropped Big Joe Joyce and Wallin and all three of those guys have excellent to very good beards and are way bigger than Usyk And Usyk should be losing rounds up at HW against these SHW sized giants and savage punching SHW sized giants given the huge/obscene physical advantages they hold over him and the youth advantages most of them held over him too. He was already a few months away from turning 35 and past his prime when he won his first world title at HW, let alone when he became undisputed at 37 And as I keep saying, these SHW sized giants are not the slow, ponderous unathletic and low skill giants of many previous eras who didn't even know how to use their range. They're fast for their size, athletic, skilful, coordinated and know how to box and use their range and make it very difficult for much smaller opponents.
He got lucky that he had a good ref who was paying attention. Dubois helped by consistently aiming low, warning the referee to keep eyes wide open. And Daniel knew he was bang to rights, that's why he didn't really protest at the time - only later when his managers had coached him into stirring the controversy. Beyond that... It wasn't really borderline, it was low - any controversy is only there because some are desperate to find excuses to stir up controversy, that's just boxing fans for you.
Anybody who questions Usyk need only read the above. The man is a legendary fighter who has clearly beaten every opponent put in front of him as a professional.
No all his wins were clear anyone who thinks he lost to Chisora or any other fight really doesn't know how to score fights
Thanks. I forgot to add that he's beaten all these world champions, top contenders, savage punchers, and SHW sized giants in their backyards or on the road on a playing field stacked against him or at worst on a level one without trying to wangle any advantages at the negotiating table, be they fair or unfair, but he's also done so fair and square via the application of pure skill and zero use of any dirty or illegal tactics. No billy goat butting, use of elbows, punching low, hitting downed opponents, minimal holding, shoving his elbows and forearms into his opponent's faces in order so he can blindside them with a cheap shot. No hitting after the bell. No roughhousing and mauling. No missing weight. No weight bullying leprechauns - almost all his opponents sans 1 or 2 have either been roughly his size, bigger, much bigger or way bigger and even down at CW he wasn't rehydrating a ton of weight after weigh ins. He weighed 208lbs in the ring against Mchunu and 207lbs for the Michael Hunter fight. That's only 7lbs and 8lbs respectively more than the CW division limit.
Not only is he completely wrong, it makes zero sense to rob Chisora to "open to road to undisputed" Hearns fighter was AJ and the last thing they wanted was Uysk to win Why would they influence a Uysk win?
