I'm just being fair. He did flagrantly elbow Crocker. He did stiff-arm like crazy. He did hit him after the bell. But he did also dominate the fight and he did not deserve to lose tonight because they were both to blame for for the head clashes and I'm not sure it was intentional by either. The referee was atrocious and the wrong man got his hand raised even though the right man did hit him after the bell

Donovan proved he is the real deal, excellent performance. I doubt Boots wants that work! I bet he's thanking his lucky stars what happened at the end there.

McDonnell is fully to blame for all of this, had Donovan not had his second point deducted, he wouldn't have been in such a feeding frenzy probably blinded by rage trying to get it back.

It was an excellent performance.....against a very limited domestic level fighter as Donavan said himself in the build up.

Going from Crocker to Boots is crazy and Boots would annihilate both of these guys.

Hard to think you won when sucking oxygen from a mask but people are wierd and capable of rationalising any outcome

especially when you've got Billy Nelson blowing smoke up your arse telling you that you are a world class puncher with immense skills... I used to defend that guy back in the Ricky Burns days. **** that!

Oh give it a rest. A local crowd of a small country (probably mostly full of casuals who won't really "get it") supporting their hometown boy whatever happens.

Wouldn't do it myself because I know that no fighter or true boxing person wants to see a DQ.

But try think about it a bit. Just people who back their own, not necessarily proper boxing people and probably don't have an opinion formed themselves about the deductions, just following what the ref is doing and believing that to be appropriate

Sounds like you have some sort of strange agenda

Whilst Donovan was totally dominating and was about to win the fight. I'm also unsure about the headbutts etc as Crocker seemed a bit guilty of leaning in all fight too..

But why is everyone so against the decision? The rules are the rules tbf and the punch that finished him was clearly after the bell. It's the right call, however it might be that the fact is that Donovan was certainly going to finish him pretty soon.

It's a shame that it happened that way and Donovan deserved better but he unfortunately made a very silly mistake and paid the harsh, but officially correct, price...

Had roach connected that punch should have been gervonta declared the winner by DQ?

Tha kind of punch happens every single freaking saturday night several times. No reason for a DQ AT ALL.

I have no agenda whatsoever other than being opposed to disrespectful assholes. I've reacted similarly to childish provincialism and nationalism when it happens in the US, multiple times on here.

Thing is Crocker was a ***** about it he jumped on the ground knowing full well what would happen. That **** happens every fight and fighters just walk back to the corner without moaning, little pitch was moaning to the ref all night. Love to see Paddy beat him up again but doubt it will happen.
