Does anyone think Lamont Roach can pull off the upset?

Wow this aged well. You called it right. Well done. Do you think Roach would be able to get the job done and win more convincingly if he gets another shot at Davis?

Yep Tank showed that he’s not at that level at all.

Most of the reason I felt Roach had a good chance was due to the demeanour of each man in the build-up. Tank is starting to feel his age imo, those camps are getting harder, he's not as sharp as he once was, and he can't shrug off shots like he used to. But he does have that fight-changing power in his locker. Tank is never not dangerous. But Roach was able to mitigate that by stifling Tank's offence and by giving him different looks defensively on top of taking away Tank's punching room by taking the fight to the inside for spells. Roach fought a disciplined, intelligent fight last night. However, if he allows himself to get down in the dumps over the decision and loses his confidence and composure for the rematch, then he most likely takes something big and goes down. If he uses the result of last night's fight as fuel then I think he would definitely win a rematch. I'd need to see how both men are acting pre-fight to make a concrete prediction but I do think Roach would win a rematch.

Tank isn't going to give him a rematch. PBC fighters normally don't give rematches unless they came up short. Wilder to Fury, Charlo to Harrison and Castano, Spence attempted to rematch Crawford.......etc..... Unless they come up short, they simply move on from it. I'd be surprised if Roach is ever in the ring with Tank again.

To answer you question, let's not forget that this was LR's first fight at lightweight. Announced in the fall and given 5 months to prepare pretty much. He would grow into the weight for the division and get stronger. He had a great gameplan that left fans on the edge of their seats because he was connecting clean while exchanging with Tank. Something we haven't seen up to this point vs Tank. Imagine him getting stronger, hiring a nutritionist. Evaluating the gameplan and adding to it. Tank will continue to push the "retirement" conversation as a scapegoat to take little to no risk on his way out the door while trying to maximize his profit with B.S. fights for the fans.

I think Gervonta is suffering the same sindrome of Wilder. He started to depend to much on his power and forgot to use His skills to win rounds like trowing more punches or do combinations.

I get what you are saying but I wouldn't say it's the same as Wilder. Wilder never had combinations he used nor ever did he set traps. He simply had a club punch that he was able to flash vs lesser competition that got him by. Tank on the other hand had/has a skill set that can win rounds for him more times than not while also having the game changer when things aren't going well otherwise. Tank's issue last night, in my eyes, was that he didn't have a plan B in case his opponent wasn't as aggressive as he wanted him to be. Tank wanted to counter and get the KO. Everyone in the building knew this including the man in the ring with him. When Roach came up showing patience, it threw Tank off his game and made him have to use that IQ a bit more. Roach deserves more respect for his work in that ring than what Tank's camp gave him before and even after the bout. It was a plan that actually worked, thus, the ref was needed to make sure Tank walked away with his title.
