Always time to protest and ask the NY commission to intervene.

The jab clearly landed. I heard a thud after the 2nd jab and this confirms it.

A fighter takes a knee after a punch. Doesn’t get any more definitive than that. It would’ve been still a knockdown because he took a knee.

Roach needs to file a protest immediately. It’s a clear cut case.

Yes, there really isn't any ambiguity at all it is, as you say, a clear cut case.

The ref looked like he started count and got scared or confused by tank

If he started a count it’s a knockdown.
It’s the judges who didn’t mark it accordingly.

I think it was the right hand before that jab that really buzzed him, but its hard to see exactly how well it landed? It looked like he rolled with it but it still connected. The follow up jab was the icing on the cake but I think it was both those punches that caused the knee in a delayed reaction. I just rewatched the fight and scored it 8-4 to Roach. A few close rounds though, 7-5 works also. He won though.

Corruption is the kissing cousin of privilege.

Right before Roach's final punch lands, Tank clearly rubs his left eye with his LEFT glove, I watched it at 25% normal speed on youtube and it is quite clear, you can see it in a clip but you will miss it without slowing it down. Now I would think almost ASSUREDLY he was rubbing his eye because the previous Roach punch right before that appears to have wacked him in the eye. Was there already some chemical from his hair getting into his eye? Sseems very unlikely, or if so , the punch enhanced it, but even if so, its his own fault for having chemicals in his hair, obviously you are going to sweat in there and that just seems incredibly stupid to take the risk of that and that is on him. Also, they just barely made a pretense of wiping him in the corner. If you had something in your eye burning that BADLY enough to stop the action, a super quick brush with a towel would probably not cure it, the burning of the eye would take some time to clear out anyways even if you did wipe it off. Think if anytime you had something burning in your eye, it goes away slowly, no towel brushing over your eye in half a second is going to do anything. If anything you would throw some water in there and wait as it gets better, over probably a few minutes.

But THEN I think, Tank isn't going to simply STOP the action because a punch got him in the eye! He will fight thru it....but logic tells me that the hair chemical in the eye makes ZERO SENSE. Either its not bad enough to stop the action and you continue fighting or if it IS bad enough to stop the action then you damn sure aren't OK within a TOWEL being quickly swiped over your face in half a second.

So my conclusion is this: I do not think it was a delayed reaction from the punch, because he had his faculties enough to wipe the eye immediately after it landed on the eye. It was the punch itself that bothered the eye, then right after he takes his LEFT hand glove and places it on his left eye he gets hit with ANOTHER Roach punch!

I think in THAT moment he decided, WAIT STOP EVERYTHING!!! This guy just hit me in my eye and I'm just trying to deal with that and now he is hitting me with ANOTHER punch!!!! What the hell does he think this is ? A prize fight? STOP.

I think in a sort of subconscious way it was his way of showing how much power he has. Look what I can do. I can simply stop the action, take a knee and nothing at all happens. And the ref is of my prostitutes too. Which is why he said to Roach as they were jawing , according to Roach, that Roach cannot win on the cards.

So, he stopped the fight, he took a knee, he went to his corner, his corner touched him, I mean, the New York State Atheletic Commission should have a hearing and the fight needs to be ruled a DQ and a Roach victory. The commission can do that. Its a DQ when he walks away from the ref its a DQ when his corner touches his face. Then they should look into the ref and hit him with a long suspension.

What he did was complete BS.

Not much to say that hasn't been said.

This, sadly, is one of the top 5 draws in boxing who just got away with it in a headline fight.

I'm glad I watch a lot less boxing now. It's just embarrassing which is a shame. Imagine inviting your UFC buddies over and hyping it like "This Tank dude hits like a HW and this is gonna be awesome". They'd tell you to not call them the next time a fight was on.
