Yes . . . Vaquez did. He is not denying that.

A case where a fighter used his better judgement . . . survive today and comeback to fight another day.

The guy has broken nose and can't breath at that point.

Then make sure it's fair enough in every thread...learn to be consistent.

Only a day ago, you understood that no amount of emotional writing can change Cotto's "quit" into a "went out fighting..."

...let's move the debates forward, not backward.

WOW now you are you diging up my old posts Suge, I did not say you are right just fair enough as in "I understand your point" not " I agree with your point"

But enought of this I know you are mad, but lets debate boxing not intelligence or lack there of.

    Cool?

What would be the point of me focusing on denotation when no-one else in the world does? I still think we need a new word. No Mas, and being badly injured, are two completely different things IMO.

...that's a stretch...digging up old posts...you make it sound as though I rummaged the archives...

...it was yesterday man, and I remember not having a problem with you on something that was really simple. Today it's like we need Dr. Phil over here for you though.

...I have called for us to talk boxing for the last several posts, and I assure you I'm not angry. When I have the opportunity to clearly present the facts it is a calming and soothing experience...doesn't wind me up one bit.

I like Izzy Vasquez, he is my favorite fighter in his division...

...he QUIT, and I have no problem with it. He came back and won another day. I don't attempt to convince myself otherwise...and I find the hypocrisy of the Cotto Queens amusing though, who can't accept the fact about their hero.

Again, I like Cotto...he's not my favorite but I like him...and I loved the Paulie fight.

I think the way we view a defeat where the fight has to be stopped because of injury should be TURNED AROUND to acclaim the winner rather than the loser.

Cotto didn't quit, Margarito inflicted injuries on him that made him unfit to continue

Vasquez didn't quit, Marquez inflicted injuries on him that made him unfit to continue

If a man says he is unfit to continue, and his injuries are verified by a doctor, then that should be viewed as different from just voluntarily quitting. (unfit doesn't mean unable, ie can't stand, it means medically unfit to continue without a severe and immediate risk to health)

...so what do you do when you are unfit to continue...???...do you continue fighting...or do you quit...???

Saying the guy is unfit to continue, is simply a way to remove the responsibility and consequences of quiting. I'm fine with that, and we already have it...

Having the doctor rule him unfit to continue, is not new...and that's not what occured. No amount of Make-believe can make it so.
...you have an opinion that it should be viewed diferently, fine...you view it diferently.

If you reject the truth, I can't make you swallow it...all I can do is make sure you have the facts...and you are aware of him taking a knee.

Yes he quit because of a broken nose.
