Peak Joyce that beat Parker vs top heavies today:

    1. vs Usyk - loses a decision but manages to make it decently competitive. Still not quick enough. Usyk UD 12, 9-3.

    2. vs Dubois - wears down Dubois and stops him late. Joyce TKO 10.

    3. vs Parker - tough to say vs this new version of Parker. I think the Parker of the Zhang fight boxes on the backfoot and wins a close decision. Parker UD 12, 7-5.

    4. vs Kabayel - eh tough. I am 50-50 here but maybe leaning towards Kabayel's body punching wearing Joyce down and helping Agit win a close decision. Kabayel UD, 7-5.

    5. vs Joshua - beats the current version of Joshua by mid round stoppage. Joyce tko 7.

    6. vs Zhang - despite his poor stamina, i think Zhang just has his number. Zhang tko 5.

    7. vs Bakole - even before the last minute step in vs Parker, i have always thought Bakole was being overrated. IMO Joyce's work rate would be too much. Joyce tko 10.

I just disagree with the premise bro. With respect, Joe Joyce was never very good and only looked good in an era when skilled HWs were just returning to the division.

    Usyk def beats him

I think current Danny beats any version of Joyce

    Current Parker KOs Joyce

Kabayel definitely outpoints him if he can't stop him.

Joshua's been getting too much **** for how good he is. Josh still beats Parker and Agit IMO let alone Joyce.

I think Joyce can take Zhang. Best Joyce. The thing is Zhang's another I just didn't see what his fans were seeing. Looked ass the whole time to me, so it's hard for me to give him a better or worse part in his career. Looks like he just hit that wall skill wise.

Bakole is 50/50 imo. Not even holding the recent one against him, he was super last minute, but he's kind of a slow plodder type himself.

Peak Joyce stopped the two "best" HWs after Usyk - Dubois and Parker.

He's an average heavyweight in a weak era. Joe Bugner would beat his brains out

To me Zhang did not 'look ass'. Admittedly he is old and has poor stamina and kabayel showed a few flaws in his game but how high is your bar for good fighters if zhang is far below?

In his winning fights Zhang had amazing handspeed with decent footwork and incredible punching power. Add to that very good precision in his punches and great coordination for his size with a variety of dangerous power punches (when many only have 1 or 2). I mean the ko in the second joyce fight was unreal. He sadly finished joyces amazing punch resistance that everyone was raving about. He beat hrgovic around for most of their fight - and even if hrgovic is not top 10 his impact and boxing ability in that fight (a big robbery) looked better than dubois against hrgovic. Had everyone on the floor or close to a ko that won against him... I would say that's a pretty good case for him to be rated at least somewhere in the middle of the top ten (not anymore but not long ago)

Btw would have been interesting if we had gotten dubois vs zhang. Since zhang is the better boxer with the stronger punches i wonder whether dubois would have gotten into the right distance before zhang clipped him. Might have been as bad a matchup for dubois as it was for joyce.

    Prime Joyce against the following:

Usyk - Joyce loses every round maybe bar one on points. Wide Usyk UD.

Dubois - 50/50 fight, Dubois is better now than in 2020 but not sure how he would deal with Joyce's jab then as it busted him up badly. Dubois now can defo stop prime Joyce. I'll take my chances and back Dubois by KO in a competitive fight.

Parker - Joyce is all wrong for Parker, same fashion as when they fought with Joyce controlling the fight and stopping Parker.

Kabayel - I think Joyce would struggle badly against Kabayel's body shots, and be worn down with Kabayel winning via TKO possibly points.

Joshua - I think AJ's style is bad for Joyce if he can turn the clock back and basically get to the punch first and hard like Zhang. AJ mid rounds KO for me, like Zhang I think AJ hits too fast and hard for Joyce.

Bakole - Bakole is somewhat unproven and I was one of those people that thought he was being a bit overrated but I think there is a decent enough fighter somewhere in him that can beat some solid opponents in his career. But, I think Bakole would struggle fighting someone as big and physical as prime Joyce. Joyce late TKO.

It’s the same Joyce today. Problem is he can’t fight. He can club you and can take a lot of clubbing, but any well schooled boxer should put him down.

I liked Joyce. Really rated him but he turned pro too late and had such a short window.

Wasted himself on Zhang. Wasn't Joyce a top 5 at one point, calling out Fury post-Chisora along with Usyk?

Kabayel likely shatters his ribs though. Agit just doesn't care about your chin.

I applaude your imagination. Great to see such out of the box thinking. Props.

Of course it's a total fantasy. Joyce has never blocked a punch with anything other than his face. He's already slurring his words and speaking way slower than in the past. His family should put a stop to his boxing career.

So no, he isn't competitive with the suggested list.

Usyk - beats him in completely one sided UD
Fury - beats him in a wide UD
Dubois - gets ground down and TKOd
Parker - beats him in a wide UD
Kabayel - either wins a decision or stops him late from body shots
AJ - either wins a decision or KOs him
    Zhang - KOs him again
Bakole - 60/40 Joyce, either grinds down and stops Bakole late or gets KOd early to mid rounds

why? because his stationary head got hit full force by a huge man? its a miracle he didnt get zhanged years before that. or are you telling me before zhang he had some defence and was faster?
