Sergey Kovalev vs Artur Mann is set for April 19th

Definitely winnable for kovalev, Mann has lost to everyone he’s fought with a pulse

 

Kovalev is a tragic figure in boxing.

 

I was actually watching some Kovalev fights earlier today.. Pascal 2 & Chilemba.. shame to see him fade & become irrelevant in the sport now but he was a beast back in the day

 

I was just thinking this. He got royaly screwed out of being an ATG.
Badly robbed in the first fight with Ward then then gets his ball bag annihilated in the rematch and stopped by a corrupt referee. Then gets given the Canelo fight on a quick turn around and no time to recover from the Yarde fight.

 

He only has himself to blame for that one. There was nothing unfair about that offer. He literally did not have to take it. No one forced him to fight 4 times in a year.
And besides, he had already been KO´d by Eleider Alvarez a year prior.

 

I would have preferred Kovalev to stay retired. He can win against Mann, but then what? Will he go and get massacred by the top of the category? We are talking about a fighter who in his prime was a devastating puncher (a match with Stevenson would have been spectacular). I don't like these things.

 

He needs to stay retired! This guy has never been the same since Andre SOG Ward took his soul proving that the American school of boxing is superior to Russian old Soviet school of boxing.

 

And in fact I said that I would prefer to see him retire.

In my opinion, what led to Kovalev's rapid decline was mainly his lifestyle and not the two defeats with Ward. Defeats that I think Kovalev has something to complain about, in the first match I think the verdict is controversial.

I don't agree that the American school of boxing is superior to the Russian one, for me they are simply different.

Hence why the P4P list is filled with non American boxers & not one US fighter is currently capable of beating Usyk, Zhanibek, Beterbiev & Bivol.. & from what I've seen recently the only way Americans *beat these Soviet fellas is through 3 old fellas sat at ringside paid off by shady establishment promoters.

 

All they need on this card now is Keith Thurman for a complete has-been show

 

Kovalev last year looked pretty pedestrian and washed vs Robin Sirwan Safar (also, where the hell is Safar?) I can't imagine he'll be better a year later and at 41 years old.
