Oh, I think the penny has just dropped. A fairly recent former poster, James Page? If so, the thought hadn't occured to me, but could be. Jedward is not off to a great start, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. For now.

The one thing that should be noted is that even though Lewis became lineal in 98, that lineage(to me) is tainted.
Moorer beat a Holyfield that was having a heart attack or whatever, moorer was glass chinned and never the best heavyweight in the world. Then he gets beaten by foreman who probably isnt even top 10 H2H at that point, while being way ahead on points. Foreman in turn loses the lineal title in a bogus decision to Briggs who was hand picked cannon fodder for georges retirement tour.
Lewis himself won his WBC title in court vs Tyson and then beat up a mentally ill mcCall for it when it became vacant.

So the whole dominant lineal thing is irrelevant to me. In the late 90s Holyfield was the only real champ in my eyes.

That being said lennox lewis is a h2h beast and a dominant champion.

I don't recall, tbh. He was either a terrible poster, a troll or both.

Lennox Lewis is one of 3 (along with Marciano and Gene Tunney) to retire as a lineal champion, and when the line (of man beating man) was broken.
Of those 3 champions, only Lewis beat the champion of the next generation in the last fight of his career.
And he avenged both his defeats; he beat everyone he stepped into the ring with.

Such an impressive only on paper fighter that both Bowe and Tyson ducked him?

Lewis' resume holds up within the heavyweight pantheon, winning 15 world title fights, never ducking anyone & having longevity, he also avenged his two defeats, meaning he beat every fighter he faced, important attributes.

He did duck Byrd. And I'm saying it as a Lewis fan.

No idea, people praise Lennox a lot for being very managed, greedy, and the sole reason why the WBA Reg, WBC Franchise, Gold, Silver, etc. belts exist.

Not saying he wasn't great but the fact he waited Tyson and Evander out should matter. The Cherry picking should matter. Avoiding mandos for money should matter.

He and Holmes are the reason Wlad thought chewing up mandos forever was good enough and the reason Pov though champion leftover for over a decade to wait the champ out was a good idea. Folk blame money for prima dona champions while they praise Wlad, Holmes, and Lennox well beyond what they earned without any sense of irony or shame.

Why have you reached this conclusion?

    Asking out of curiosity.

He defeated everyone he ever fought, he never ducked anyone, his quality of opposition is s good as any heavyweights ever ... for starters.

Same as Riddick Bowe and Ingo Johanson.

    1. What are Lewis's greatest victories?

    2. Name another fighter who gave up all 3 belts without a fight and say that he fought everyone and did not avoid anyone and the number 1 contenders do not count.

    3. Tell me about Lewis's great fights with Bowe, Foreman, Ruiz, Wlad, Byrd, Hide, Ike, Holmes, Whitearspoon.

No one is saying that Lewis was not great. He was simply not as great as he is presented today. The victories over Tyson and Holyfield were good but so were the victories of Ruiz and Danny Williams over them, this period of his career. Holy and Tyson were past prime, they were big names, bigger than their sports form and the fights with Lewis were not impressive.
He was a brilliant strategist not only in the ring but especially outside the ring. He cleared the heavyweight division when it was already cleared, but the prize fell as if he had done it. The advertising slogans he used became part of the canon even though they were just slogans. Unfortunately, I watched it in real time. How HBO was looking for a star, how HW in the US was demoted because the great champions left, a gap appeared, into which Lennox Lewis triumphantly entered, and with each passing year, less and less is remembered about what this triumph looked like.
