Then explain me how a decent hitting man with crappy techniques and a clubbed right foot managed to make Hagler run for the 12th and the 13th round.

At Super Bantamweight, and at Super Bantamweight ONLY, Wilfredo Gomez stops Salvador Sanchez.

There is no way he beats Sanchez at Featherweight, not even in his desired rematch.

He also stops Sixto Escobar in five.

Sanchez also stops Escobat in a Featherweight fight.

Jimmy Wilde would stop Ricardo Lopez.

Marvin Hagler and possibly Harry Greb (due to punch output more than power) stop Canelo Alvarez at Middleweight.

Rocky Marciano would stop Tyson Fury with a heavy body attack that would cut Fury's size advantage and then a Suzy Q in rounds ten or eleven.

Henry Armstrong stops Macho Camacho but not before knowing he was in a fight.

Hard to think of any champion who was never stopped!

Marciano at 185 pounds needs more size. I can't see him beating Fury.

Vito Antuofermo,I liked him and his infighting but he was mostly just very gutsy.

Good point. Also Duran had Hagler running in the 11th round of their fight and he was a natural lightweight. Hagler was a great middleweight but he definitely had flaws, and wasn't exactly the hardest guy to hit. Fitz could definitely stop him.

I think Tommy Hearns could ko Mike McCallum at super-welter over 15 rounds.

McCallum had been shaken by Manuel Jimenez, Said Skouma, Milton McCrory and Julian Jackson whilst Hearns seemed at his peak as a puncher (Duran,Marcos Geraldo, Fred Hutchings) and as a boxer-puncher (Benitez+Minchillo) for what I consider Tommy absolute peak.

    Would be a classic though.

I personally think that the reverse would be more likely. McCallum could get shaken, but he kept himself well composed. I actually thought about making a thread about McCallum's chin a bit ago, as it's a lot more worldly than most think it to be.

The thing about McCallum is that his ability to survive through tough spots is second to none. Even against the aforementioned power punchers, he was never floored. I doubt that Tommy would've been able to finish him off.

I agree with you that McCallum calmness under pressure is second to none. You just have to see how he survived Julian Jackson´s follow up attack in the 1st round and come on strong in the 2nd to stop him. (see below)

I just think Hearns at light-middle had the speed, boxing skills, underrated body attack plus his terrific one power power to wear down McCallum and stop a bloody Mike with a barrage of blows in about 13 rounds.

But seeing McCallum survive and go the distance in Tommy´s toughest fight at the poundage would not be a surprise either.

    Arguably.
And The limited Roldan also managed to push him hard.
