Benavidez gets beat up. Calzaghe would completely shut down his offence, Benavidez really isn't as good as many make him out to be.
Calzaghe would slap the taste out of his mouth from start to finish, and take several showboating breaks along the way.
Man, Kessler vs Benavidez would look like the first 5 rounds of Benavidez vs Plant except Kessler hits a helluva lot harder than Plant, is much better than Plant, and actually has a decent gas tank. Kessler would be a nightmare for Benavidez actually come to think of it.
Benavidez stops Calzaghe. I like Joe but he is being so overrated, he struggled with far lesser opponents than Benavidez and most of his best wins were well past their prime names.
Kessler V Benavidez would look similar to Plant v Benavidez despite Kessler fighting nothing like Plant at all? What an odd comparison. Plant is a slick boxer, Kessler was a boxer/brawler who had a competitive fight with a tentative Mundine. Saying he was much better than Plant is insulting.
Calzaghe just all wrong for Benavidez going off their styles. Wide Calzaghe UD. But, if Benavidez does actually pull off the victory against Bivol, and if its a fair victory. Then this debate could get very interesting.
Like I say everytime, I believe joe would have beaten any fighter put in front of him, he was one of the most adaptable fighters, along with workrate, heart, fitness and will to win, he's a very hard man for anyone to beat.
Calslappy by wide UD Styles make fights If you engage with Benavidez thats when he is most effective against you. Joe would just throw combos and move all night.
