Sugar Shane was a thing of beauty. The one he rocked Floyd chin and the one that popped Margacheato face multiple times.
Okay young Tua got caught cold... with a right to the chin he didn't see coming... (collision of heads?)... But amazing nonetheless! It is also remarkable that the giant Savon was a heavyweight (up to about 200 Ibs) and not a super heavyweight. Stevenson was also a heavyweight for most of his career as the super heavyweight division was established in 1984. I think his weight was closer to 220 pounds or more?
Jeff Chandler has been underrated in here forever. He had a super right hand of his own and was a fantastically well rounded fighter. This content is protected
September 23, 1952...Philadelphia...After being decked for the first time in his career...cut and blinded for 4 rounds...having the hell knocked out of him...behind on all 3 scorecards...with time running out......Rocky Marciano throws the BEST right hand EVER...and KO's champ Jersey Joe Walcott in the 13th round...and wins the Heavyweight Championship Of The World in one of the greatest fights of all time!
Agree with both of your opinions. Chandler was one of the best fighters of the early 80's. He doesn't get the respect he deserves. For his extraordinary skill level , it's hard to believe he only had two amateur fights. And yes , for a small guy, he had some serious pop in the right hand.
One I haven’t seen mentioned (apologies to any poster who did if I missed it): Roger Mayweather. Straight as an arrow, accurate and usually well-timed. It was an explosive punch and his bread-and-butter throughout an outstanding career.
Master lead rights, Joe Gans, Hopkins, Douglas of the Tyson fight was brilliant,, and Floyd and Ali with the pull counter lead right was the best in the biz. I like Hearns at 154 and Arguello both with sharp shooting powerful rts as previously mentioned. Monzon effectively threws his in many different ways often looping it to land on the side/back area of the head
Yeah,it would be a good fight,I love Veeraphol's fundamental-heavy style,he actually used that economical boxing style way back when he's still a Nak Muay.
