So, three weeks out with Dubois MIA, why do we think he cancelled?

I said at the time that I was willing to give Dubois the benefit of the doubt, as people get sick. I said I believe him, but he has to give Parker his fight next.

Some things were suspicious even at the time. Usyk was in the audience and announced that he would be fighting Dubois next, and that was problematic. Also, Frank Warren quickly mentioned something about how he had to wanted DDD to pull out because he was concerned that the medicine he was taking might cause him to fail a test...sure Frank.

I must admit, it has only gotten more suspicious. For one thing, it has become apparent that team Dubois have no intention of giving Parker his shot. It's now almost done that Dubois and Usyk will fight.

Very strangely, for whatever reason, Dubois has been nowhere to be found.

I now think any one of four things, or even some combo could be true:

    1) He was legit sick and it was just very bad timing.
    2) He knew that the Usyk fight was at hand and he did not want it jeopardized.
    3) Cold feet. Parker just too much man for him.
    4) Pissing hot. He failed some internal PEDs testing.

Again, these things are not mutually exclusive, so I am going to put up a multiple choice poll. Please check whatever you think was a factor.

I don't like how little detail they gave, and any of these 4 reasons wouldn't surprise me.

I'd guess a combo between actually being unwell and knowing even if he didn't fight Parker - he would still fight Usyk. He probably did not expect Parker to fight or beat someone that had a high rank and a boogeyman status so soon.

The medicine causing Dubois to fail a drug test is an interesting point too. Failing drug tests just destroy your reputations, and would taint his win over Parker big time (had Dubois won), I mean it would have been ruled a no contest at somepoint.

I think team usyk and team dubois have some internal agreements , also for the dubois-usyk fight.

Some combination of 2 and 3 probably.

    God only knows.

I reckon you are right in that it is a combination of a few factors. I'm sure he was actually a little bit sick but played it up in the context of your other points. Like on any other night, against Trevor Bryan for example, he still would have fought.

It would have been easy for him to agree to fight Parker high of the Joshua win when he was feeling on top of the world. But a few months later Parker is looking very serious and super sharp and a much bigger risk than anticipated. And Dubois is suddenly the favourite with all everything to lose and all the pressure that entails a pretty different mentality compared to the rest of his career.

Plus maybe Dubois didn't have the best camp and his drug regimen didn't go to plan and Usyk is keen for the rematch which is a shot at undisputed and tens of millions of dollars. Then getting sick on top of that could have been the straw that broke that camel's back and suddenly he is pulling out.

And now he feels a bit of shame, especially considering all the crap he has been talking about Joshua, Parker and Usyk. Its a pretty big climb down emotionally from where he was after the Joshua fight and he is getting roasted everywhere online. Makes sense he would keep his head down until he sees how it shakes out.

I just think it’s weird how quiet it is around him. Leading up to the Parker fight he was doing interviews and podcasts and stuff and after the cancelation nothing. If he was honestly just sick just put your face out there and like be hey look I am sick.

Not saying he wasn’t sick per se but why so quite?

Initially I thought Warren pulled him out to avoid Parker ruining a big payday. Now with the radio silence out of the Dubois camp I’m suspecting he was informed of a positive test by UKAD.

I think this was a simple case of him not caring about the Parker fight enough to do it instead of fighting Usyk. Dubois took it as a "and" fight not an "or" fight which it has become.

It's suspicious and the fact Dubois who without being disrespectful is not the sharpest tool in the toolbox (and therefore might slip up and say the wrong thing) has been subsequently kept away from the media makes me more suspicious.

As I said the other day, they could've easily rescheduled the J-Park fight for a month or at most two months later as they'd both just finished full camps training to fight each other and J-Park was only in the ring for a few minutes and took minimal damage. But Team Dubois immediately distanced themselves from the fight and moved onto the Usyk fight despite the fact they'd put in a full camp to face J-Park and they had an agreement to face him which they should've honoured.

Usyk shouldnt Have fought dubious before Fury, crazy high risk almost got bellied

And dubious shouldnt fight parker before Usyk again too high risk

I know there is a lot of Turki money flying around but without it these fights would never have happened historically due to the risk reward

Also AJ shouldn't have really fought Dubious but he is at a loss at this point and is now just a bum to be KO'd for our entertainment

Shame Bakole took the Parker fight and somewhat set himself back but he's a bit desperate to get fights so will take the risk. Kabayel is desperate to get fights also but thankfully people have now took notice of him and he can't be denied.

Was he suddenly shot down by illness? Maybe but do I see him fighting Parker not at 100%? No. Could have pulled a muscle or just felt crappy and that's enough to call it. You saw how he handled a bad knee against that cruiserweight.

I saw DDD the other day and he was skinny as a rake, I presume Frank has told him to keep his mouth shut.

Either he is super sick which is threatening his career, or he got busted for PED´s and they are trying to bury it.
 Also I love how suddenly Dubois is scared of Usyk.

    For me it's a combination.

He was sick, and probably could fight but not be 100% so for him it was no longer worth the risk.
