Parker is a class act and a real fighter. He's game to step in with anyone and test them and himself out.

I’m a big admirer of his along with Usyk. Guys like these are why I still follow boxing.

    Parkers only 33?

Thats crazy... for some reason I thought ye was 36 or 37.

Pretty good resume for a 33 year old, in the modern era.

Joseph Parker stinks on hot ice. If he fought in the 90s, Tua would ice him in one round.

    Horse ****.

He couldn't ice Byrd, Rahman, Izon or Maskaev in a round, none of whom were as durable as Parker. I doubt Tua even beats Parker full stop.

Takam was a tough fight for Parker but he clearly won that fight. Think it was the first fight that JP went the distance?

Ruiz v Parker was close with a lot of swing rounds. Both guys being quick draw exchange punchers but not wanting to get into a slug fest. Both guys could have won it, neither could say it was a gift decision.

Depends which version of Tua turns up. A motivated Tua is a handful for any of today's fighters.

If you compared him to a modern day HW, it's probably Zhang without the subtleties, but making up for it by several degrees of violence. If Parker fought to the same gameplan as he did against Zhang and Wilder - maximizing a smash and grab, in and out style - I think Parker basically Lennox Lewis's him and keeps him static.

Tua was a great fighter and in some ways I think his legacy in a far tougher era outstrips Parker's achievements so far. Perennially Top 10 ranked in that generation for 8 years - in a period dominated by American fighters and promoters - really was something special. But Tua as a fighter did fluctuate and had his flaws

You bring up some legitimate points. But, honestly Parker is worse than Byrd. And, just like Maskaev, and Izon, he would get stopped. Be it early or late.

    Worse than Byrd??

    Tua was 5'10" tall

Byrd was a blown up CW

Parker is a MONSTER compared to most 2000's guys

He’s around 260lbs as of his latest fight and hasn’t lost a step, like Foreman in the 80s-90s he might be happier with the extra weight. I respect the hell out of all pros but Tua was… “eh” he got too heavy and lost what he had.

Parker is much quicker and more skilled than Maskaev and Izon. Not to mention he has a good chin while Maskaev had beyond glass one and Izon had average at best.

I'm not saying Tua couldn't stop him (more likely late in the fight) but I'd favour Parker to outbox him to a UD victory

Tua stops Parker late. Ruiz was close fight in hometown. Wilder trash. Bakole unfit and 2 days notice. Zhang dropped him twice running on a 3 round gas tank. Joyce stopped him with relentless pressure. Whyte beat him. Chisora beat him.

Parker is no monster, you will find out in his next fight

Until recently I would have said Tua was better and beaten Parker. But given how Parker has beaten flawed big hitters like Wilder, Zhang and Bakole, I could easily see Parker out boxing Tua and winning a decision.

Yes Tua may be able to end the fight late after being out boxed like he did against quite a few opponents but Parker has a good chin and Tua couldn't KO everybody.

Tua likely KO's Kevin Barry version of Parker but the current version is smart enough and durable enough to beat Tua.

    Chisora didn't beat Parker.

I'm a huge fan of both but unless Tua lands the perfect shot he loses on points against Parker.
