Very strange, but wholesome and oddly effective promotion strategy!

 

It's said Paul paid $20M to Mike Tyson for the win. If he pays something like $100M to Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title, Usyk would be the happiest man in the world to take a dive.

This is professional boxing, everything is about money. Usyk now makes $20M + plus heavy brain damage per fight. So, a fake, safe fight with Paul will be worth 5 matches and he will avoid shortening his life span.

 

More gold from the best in the business.

 

Nobody is paying Usyk 100m to fight Jake Paul.

 

Tyson was incapable of fighting due to his knee. It was painfully obvious in the fight that he just couldn’t do anything. Yeah, Paul beat an old man with a bad knee, but he legitimately beat him (and could have won via stoppage early if he’d wanted to).

 

if anything was pre-arranged, it was that Paul would hold back and not try to hurt Tyson. Which he did. Any time he landed anything with a bit of pop, he’d immediately back off like “oops sorry”.

I hate that the fight was counted as an actual professional bout, but credit to Paul for being as respectful as humanly possible in-ring to an old legend. if you want to see the opposite, go watch what happened with Holyfield vs Belfort. Paul could have easily done that to Tyson.

 

I always liked Parker and this makes me like him even more!!!

 

This annoys me. Show sources please. If you're going after usyk's reputation, saying he wants only big money fights agains joshua and fury without a reason to do so you shouldn't cal yourself old school boxing!

Usyk has consistently shown us that he does not care about a-side advantages and fights everyone and has given us a lot of fights that aj and fury would not have given us in his position. He can not fight everyone at once and whoever is chosen as his opponent (I actually never saw him choose his opponents, there was always one that made the most sense and he took that fight) his detractors say he should fight someone else and he's ducking. If anyone comes close to being an old school boxer it's usyk. And I have no horse in the race other than being a fan of boxing.

Unless 'old school boxing' just means the times when americans were dominant...

 

Parker's three call out music videos have all been gold. Surely everyone is rooting for the guy these days. Would love to see him get his shot next (and I'm a Brit)

Why would he NOT choose fighting AJ and Fury? Those 2 are the most revenue generating heavyweight boxers. Usyk made tens of millions of dollars by fighting AJ and Fury for 4 times.

Usyk himself said he was disappointed when AJ lost to Dubois. Because he was hoping AJ would grab the IBF belt and then they would fight for the 3rd time, for the undisputed title, and Usyk would be paid at least $50M. Now he will fight Dubois for something like $10M.

 

He has good taste in music.
