I think this might be the craziest thread of all time.

He both has a point, but at the same time I don't agree of Marcel being a tiny and undeveloped at the time of the Duran match.

Marcel was not undeveloped, he was a beast and pretty much the finished article already, just with some 15 round seasoning to go, but Duran at the time didn't have that either, so it's not of any relevance.

Duran did have the size advantage, but he was still growing himself and it didn't look notable during the fight. It's hard to say for sure, because he's a rare example of a fighter that retired at his peak, but I expect Marcel was someone that could have fought from 126 to 135 without losing too much, he may well have moved up for good very soon after the Arguello fight for all we know.

Yeah, that's what I thought of Marcel for the Duran fight.

Him not releasing fire at all in the final rounds may be suspicious but he could have gassed out like in the Arguello fight, where he kinda slowed around the middle rounds but came back to win the championship rounds, quite the same as Duran going from dominated by Lampkin early, back and forth for the middle rounds, and finishing him in 14 finally.

I would say if they had 10 fights Floyd wins 7 times Duran wins 3

How many top 10s did each face either rated at some point in there careers or at the time of the fight?

LMFAO, not sure about that, it's possible LOL, depends on how much Duran partied, but I will say that was highly unjustified for Duran, het let his entire country down that night. I like Duran, but that was a huge mark on his career, he didn't train, he was supposed to have an honorable rematch with the other of the 4 kings, and he didn't prepare, partied, and when he fought, he quitted, that was very dishonorable from Duran and if Floyd did that he would get highly criticized more than Duran.

    I actually agreed on this.

Damn, Duran was both the most courageous and the most loser fighter of all time, how did he quit vs Leonard but stood his ground when Paz was barraging him all the way up in super middleweight?

The simple answer is Leonard is better than Paz, that's it. That's literally it, and Floyd is better than SRL, therefor Floyd is better than Duran.

It’s kind of crazy how underrated Floyd is.

It really is, how does a top 7 fighter of all time become underrated? Doesn't make sense LOL, he should be properly rated, maybe a little bit overrated but, like c'mon, he's top 7 fighter of all time and he's super well known, he shouldn't be underrated.
