Wow that is incredible that his management couldn't secure anymore. But then again if it is the largest purse you ever offered I wouldn't blame them for taking the fight.
Man that puts the fight into an entirely different perspective.

They were also friends before the fight.
Gatti and Robinson were Sweet Pea s sparring for de la Hoya.
They were known to get down and dirty in Virginia Beach during that time.
Late in the second fight ,8th 9th round they were punching eachother and stopped for a second and laughed at eachother like “damn, imagine if we didnt like eachother what would we do?” Type of look.
What do you make of the Gamache weight thing now?

I think Gamache was right in his law suit and Gatti was in the wrong for doing that - he knew how much bigger he was.

    Gatti did his job though.
It was the comission s fault for not enforcing the rules imo.

I agree somewhat and I love Gatti but wrong is wrong - he was essentially cheating and he knew it.
And Gamache I had no love for but he was in the right to sue.

Gatti wasnt cheating. He was playing the game.
The NYSAC cheated Gamache if anything.
It s not like Gatti or Lynch or Main Events were gonna say wait the scale isnt ok or the rupes werent enforced.
    My 2 cents anyway.
Gamache was in the roght to sue offcourse and he was proven right by the settlement.

I respect that but if you were Gatti and you know you are way bigger and you watch the commission BS the weigh in in your opinion you don't think Gatti knew it was wrong?

    He probably knew.
    That s irrelevant though.
The idea is thst the commission people surely knew.
My point is it wasnt Gatti/Lynch job to enforce the rules.
If you play basketball and you keep fouling a guy and the ref lets it slide are you going to stop or keep fouling?Offcourse your not gonna stop.

Do you think Gatti felt any remorse for the way it turned out and if he knew the outcome do you think he deserves it?

Honestly yesh I do think he felt remorse. He wasnt the type of cat that was a animal without reason outside of the ring.
For example the year earlier when he stretched out Reyes Munoz in Connecticut Pat Lynch said they bad an after party to celebrate.
Gatti was nowhere to be seen.Towards the end he finally arrived. He had been at Munoz s bed side in the hospital for 5 hours. Not only he didnt tell the press this he didnt even tell his team this.
He didnt have bad blood with most of any opponent.
Btw Pat Lynch just posted a new episode of the podcast,it focuses on Gatti-Ward 1 this episode.
