Big dudes don't tend to last long. 76 is a good run for a dude his size. And a great run for someone of his accomplishments.
RIP to Big George. We were just talking about him in the other topic. He lived a full life. Went from one of the most feared and devastating Heavyweights of All-Time to an inspiring and motivational figure. The Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine was his pride and joy, and what a product it was. One of the most popular household items ever, and that had everything to do with his popularity. But it wasn't just a gimmick, it was truly a revolutionary product. Very sad to hear, he will be truly missed.
Very sad and shocking to hear. He was a very nice man. My wife and i met him when he was a commentator for HBO, it was at the Delahoya vs Rivera fight in 1997. He was with Jim Lampley, and Larry Merchant. When we shook his hand, he had those huge ham hawk hands, he was huge! We told him we use his George Foreman grill all the time, he loved it, and said he has one in his hotel room. He then signed something for us. RIP BIG GEORGE!! YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. He was a true legend! Also, i loved his movie!! He is now with his LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!!
What a loss. Big George was a true monument of the sport, boxing icon, folklore and forever a champion. Beyond the physical gifts, his ability to overcome personal struggle and reclaim a world title was nothing short of inspirational. He is a role model to people around the world
It does feel sudden. George always seemed on top of his health. He was hitting the heavy bag not that long ago.
Damn, this kinda ruined my morning. I did not see this coming at all. R.I.P. and best wishes to his family.
