In 1996, when I was starting into collecting autographs, I sent him a kayo card thanks to that aforementioned list of addresses I got from the state commission i dont want to mention here. (I suppose they could get sued for invasion of privacy maybe? By the boxers)

He answered saying he was with All World Boxing and so he could not sign Kayo cards.

next week I sent him my All World Boxing card, and not only did he sent it back signed, he also sent me a letter explaining that he kept a recrod of responses to see who got an autograph from him and who did not and based on that record, he knew he had to deny my first request to me, so he also sent a coffee cup...signed!!!

    What a great guy!

    We'll miss you, champ!

George Edward Foreman had a helluva life story, makes me sad, sad that he’s gone he was the first HW champion I liked a whole bunch and I was totally behind the “funny tasting water” conspiracy as a kid, I had a picture of the Moorer KO on my wall forever and to this day I sometimes rerun his comebacks key fights alongside some snacks RIP champion.

Ol Homer is probably sad doesn’t strike me as a guy who’d be indifferent to death.

This hurts more than the others.

George was my favourite fighter along with Frazier from my favourite generation. It only seems like last week when he KO’d Moorer in a sporting miracle.

Ali, Norton and Frazier I knew were battling ill health but George always looked and sounded fantastic. I thought he’d live to be 100.

    RIP you absolute legend

Holy crap man.. He's one of the greatest Heavyweights to ever lace them up, and was a great announcer for HBO. HE WILL BE MISSED! RIP BIG GEORGE!

One of the few heavyweight champions who rebuilt himself to be arguably better at an age when most fighters are long past it. Re-created himself in a different mould with intelligence and willpower to a degree almost no heavyweight has done. Ali would have had a much tougher time with Old George than he did with the younger one, which shows that George was clearly doing something right.

Liked him as a personality, too. The guy was just fun.

Very much an overachiever at every point in his career. One of the greater heavyweight champions in history, and also one of the few to play along with the fans enough to actually create a top 10 list for them. (Which, for the record, he was more qualified to make than almost anybody else.)

I remember into his 50s, there were people who thought he could still come back and beat one of the Klitschkos. Although I doubt it, it's a testimony to the guy's aura that he could still make people believe that he could pull off one more bit of sorcery.

    And he beat Shannon Briggs.

I'm old and time seems to pass fast for me, but wasn't there a film about George that was made recently? Seems like it was only a year or two ago, also there was a video of George hitting the heavy bag not too long ago, everybody remember that?

RIP Big George, you gave me the biggest thrill in boxing November 5th, 1994, regaining the title. My best boxing moment, I don't think anything will ever top that.

Very sad news. 76 is not old today. Shocking and very upsetting.

2 years as an amateur to win gold 5 as a pro to be “the man” and 10 years later under the wing of Archie Moore he ran it all again and won the title as a new fighter, I will never deny he had l immense talent as a boxer.

Yeah...the movie was ok...but they did some weird things. They used real fight footage at certain points....but CGI'd the actors face over Foreman's....made 0 sense. Also the video of him hittin the bag was fake...he was there and another guy stepped in to the bag as the camera shifted over.
