Saw that in the early hours, very sad. Fair innings for a big lad that liked his cheese burgers Still, unexpected, he always seemed as strong as a horse. Champions Forever
He was sitting right in front of me at the Haye v Klitschko fight in Hamburg and I could not believe it when he appeared. Shook everybodys hand, in great spirits looking forward to the fight and one of those moments you cannot believe when a genuine legend appears. The Rumble of the Jungle was the famous fight but I remember this old warrior in his comeback going the full 12 rounds with a peak Evander Holyfield throwing what looked like 20 punch combinations. This must have been the basis of the Eubank Snr Warriors Code. The days when fighters made a comeback for titles and glory ducking nobody. Very sad start to the day.
The famous strolling uppercut and then vicious finishing right, in the fight dubbed "Two Geezers at Ceasers"
Really upsetting that he has passed. His name will live forever. Rest In Peace champ, thanks for all the memorable fights you gave us.
My lad is called George Big George was a brilliant man, and what a story his life was. "Its happened, its happened" RIP Champ
Most effortless power puncher I’ve ever seen. Had the pleasure of shaking that big right hand of his after he’d knocked out Terry Anderson at the London Arena in 1990. I was only 16 and totally in awe of him.
This is one of the greatest moments in boxing history and one of the best comebacks. This content is protected His knockout of Cooney was also something else, and then he made another fortune from the grill; he also named all of his sons George. Unique individual.
Incredible punch resistance for a man in his mid forties and a great, great fight. Nothing against Moorer but I leapt with joy when he hit the canvas. Incredible moment in boxing history.
RIP Champ I remember growing up and watching him back in his day with all the other legends of the sport. When he beat Moorer that night it makes me smile as I was up late watching old stuff on ITV in early hours of the morning like the wrestling and they sometimes showed old classic boxing fights and I kept up to date with Foreman vs. Moorer via teletext by continuesly checking it until it came up until the result lol, those were the days. Considering his background, what he came from, to be heavyweight champion of the world twice, all those years apart and what he made of himself is impressive.
One of the most unique fighters of all time. A proper slugger and top 3 heavyweight puncher in history. RIP Big George
