Came on to post this same thing. Came across as a lovely guy, old school but not against keeping up with the times. Always kept things grounded in interviews.

His podcast with George Groves was a great listen. Sad news.

Nearly 90 and never stopped working. He was brilliant. I'm not someone who is particularly bothered about celebrity deaths etc but I had a lot of respect for Colin Hart would always watch him if he was interviewed or read his columns.

By coincidence, BBC World Service were running a documentary about the Rumble yesterday and he featured heavily.

I remember back when I was a kid, Colin Hart predicted Sugar Ray Leonard would defeat Marvin Hagler; he really stuck his neck out there, as no one really gave Leonard a chance, especially after the long layoff and the Kevin Howard fight.

The last of the great British tabloid journalists and marks the end of an era in the sport. We are now in the age of "social media" sports journalism. RIP Colin.

As above probably the last of the traditionalists.
A prominent figure and great student of the game.
It’ll be strange not having Colin Hart around the fight game.
    R.I.P.

Yes some fitting tribute posts guys.

He really was an old school journalist, loved boxing and boxing people student of the game.

He was a brilliant writer that covered boxing when it used to feature on the back pages of the tabloids rivalling football and the two inside pages when a big domestic or international fight took place. He has been a real mainstay of British boxing writing over the years and wrote excellent cover and niche columns on various boxing issues. RIP.

What about Jeff Powell of the Daily Mail? 82 and still going. Seems healthy.

I cannot say I was a particular fan of this old boy however May his blessed soul rest in perfect peace. I acknowledge and recognise he spent his life in this noble sport of ours writing about the numerous boxing matches he watched. Thinking of his family at this time.
